Diode 1630 >- .777 M ohms I went to check it again, and it flipped across the room somewhere.. LOL

Diode 1633 > Three Prong.. one Closed (OL) and the other says 11. Then, rechecking it again, one of the prongs fell off; it's useless! everything checks OL now.

    D601 > .633/OL
D670> First Test: 69.8 Kilo Ohms Second: 56 Kilo Ohms

Resistor had no resistance .. OL both ways.
I tested it in circuit and then took it out..

I don't have pictures, I threw that diode away. Couldn't read anything on it.

I took the video board off, checked the back of the board.. no blown problems visible..
Put the board back in, plugged everything back in, unplugged Tcon and then plugged it all back in.. Now I get the BackLight.. but I can't get Cable, or Menu to come up..

I'm thinking the TCON Board isn't working too..
Is the TCON what houses the 'Menu' program?

T-con has nothing to do with menu. Main board does menu.

Is there some way you could help me to narrow it down to a component on the mainboard? Something I could switch out?

In a way I could learn why I'm doing it..

I read that Tcon board will give a No video scenario.. if the TCon isn't working.. will the 'menu' appear?

Like Tom said, the Main board gives you the Menu etc.

I applaud your wanting to have a deeper understanding but just follow their instruction and perhaps they'll give you the logic as they go along.

::::Side Note; A Personal Regard :::::

Well.. I am reading everyday more.. and being I am a property manager, I'm given the time to work on all my skills so I can make a living from doing this. I love working on things and electricity has become my God's theme, in my life.

I worked as an electrician's helper for 4 + years and now have a computer repair business in Clearwater, Florida working out of my duplex. I have a couple small websites I've done for a couple people that I host on Hostgator, and I'd now the only thing that I can see helping me to sustain my drive for 'knowing', is Knowing! So, I want to know everything; no matter how vain it may seem to think that it's actually 'one day' possible.

If you need to know anything and ask me, how can I not tell if I've the time? I hope other's are just as willing!

I'm also a Priest (since 1994) born through the cross of Jesus the Christ. Hitchhiked 14 years of my life, spending about 7 of them actually on the Highways between states going from Churches, law libraries and Soup Kitchens to Rainbow Gatherings, Festivals & Hot springs; before settling down in this duplex called, "little IsReal".. the only Real Little Bit that I got after all these years! I'm 42 now. Anyways.. I appreciate all the help I can get.. I know that when I don't know something that you 'really want to know' it becomes an insatiable passion until you know! It's not something your angry about, but 'meaning something', at times you will appear 'mean' or even 'Mad'! Don't let 'em get you down! ROFL -Namaste & Shalom

Not going to believe this.. I talked to the guy that owned the TV after getting the powerboard and that wasn't it; he didn't want to fix it anymore feeling it would cost more than the TV is worth..

So.. I left it for a while then one day I opened it up again. I left it without the back on it for like two days, putting it in one of my computer chairs one night, the cat jumped up onto the chair in the middle of the night and the TV fell off the chair, right onto it's back!

I picked it up and left it for two days figuring the thing is for sure Broken now. Well, before just throwing it out.. I decided to plug it in one more time and I got sound and fuzz!! Still can't get menu to pop up.. but static sound and snow in the picture!
My cat did better than me!

Well, there is no 'menu' button on the TV, I guess you have to have the remote & of course the owner never gave it to me. So.. I'll post more when I find out more.. Namaste & Shalom

                                      Hi everyone,

I'm working on repairing a Pilz PNOZ X4 safety relay module. When I opened it up, I found some of the connector pins detached from their pads. I replaced the connector with individual wires, but the issue remains.

The module is set to dual-channel mode with manual start. In this mode:
                                      • Y36-Y37 and Y1-Y2 are bridged.
                                      • 24VDC is applied across A1-A2.
                                      • It monitors two emergency circuits (S11→S12 and S11→S52).
                                      • When both are closed (24V present on S12 and S52) and the start button is pressed (S33 connected to S34), the NO contacts (13-14, 23-24, 33-34)
                                      ...

                                      Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?
                                      by cj_reha
Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

                                      Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
                                      by toddw65
                                      Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

                                      Thanks,...
