Seems my guess was wrong. I picked up a T-Con since they're inexpensive, but same result. Guess I'll start over with checking test points again.

Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
Hey All,
I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.
Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because...5 Photos

Only my wife. Just kidding honey! I meant to say your mom! 🤣🤣

Well, now I can't get the thing to fail. It's firing up properly every time I've tried it over the last couple of days. I did try to monitor that pin and there is a spike but my meter doesn't have the option to capture a peak value and it's too fast for me to tell what it is. Once it settles, it's at ~.88 vdc.
It's a tv I'd picked up and given my daughter months ago so most likely the problem will reoccur as soon as I get it back together and take it to her. 😆
If/when the problem surfaces again, I'll come back to this thread.
Thanks.

LN55C650L1FXZA Backlight Woes
Hi All,
I have a Samsung LN55C650L1FXZA with the BN44-00342B PS/Inverter with backlight troubles. It was working intermittently and once on, would stay on, but then once it was warm and was shut off the backlights wouldn't come back on when the set was restarted.
Now all it will do is flash for a couple of seconds and then there's a picture/sound but no backlights. Every so often I can power it up with the main board disconnected from the power board and the back lights will stay on, but not every time.
With the set powered up I get:
18.8v on all...2 Photos

Re: Samsung UN75F6300AF Won't Power Up
I did that in post #17. Although it did take me several posts to get it right.

Re: Samsung UN75F6300AF Won't Power Up
First main board I bought was apparently bad. Another board and the TV is back up and running. Thanks for you help on this one guys.

Re: Samsung UN75F6300AF Won't Power Up
Ok. That's what I assumed all along but the voltages on pins 1 & 2 threw me. Maybe this new main board actually bad because I've double and triple checked and then checked again and the voltages are correct.
I also updated to show the voltages/pin/labels all together....

Re: Samsung UN75F6300AF Won't Power Up
Sorry Bud. I promise I wasn't trying to be a pain in the butt.
Two questions: Am I safe to assume that the arrow is pointing to pin #1 on CNM803?
And so you'd say that I likely purchased a bad main board?...

That was in my very first post. Attaching together to avoid confusion....

Ok. Attaching it as a picture. Lets see if this is better....

Re: Samsung UN75F6300AF Won't Power Up
Well now that I look at what I posted, no wonder it's confusing. I tried to get crafty and totally screwed up the pin numbers. Sorry about that. I'll post a less crafty update shortly.

Re: Samsung UN75F6300AF Won't Power Up
Well, some progress... I think. Got the main board today and put it in. Now, when I hit the power button, relay RL801S on the power board clicks and then ~2 seconds later clicks again and with that last click, the backlight leds all flash for just a split second.
Hopefully the voltages below taken from CNM80 make sense. I've included the voltage initially and then the drop during the 2 seconds between the relay clicks. Most measurements drop to zero. A couple don't have time to drop all the way to zero and the 5V on pin 12 doesn't...

Samsung UN75F6300AF Won't Power Up
I picked up this monstrous Samsung unit today where the owner said the house had been hit by lightning. I can't see anything obviously burnt or blown.
On CNM803 I get 5.34V on pin 18 and .25V on pin 20. Nothing on any other pins.
Also, when I disconnect the harness between the main board and the power board, the LEDs all light up and the screen is nice shade of blue.
Thoughts?...

Re: Sony XBR-65X810C Bad Panel?
Sadly, once I pulled the bezel on this, I found a tab that was partially pulled away from the panel. Oh well. Thanks everyone.

Re: Sony XBR-65X810C Bad Panel?
Sorry about the previous pics sans description. I was trying to get the detail of the edge boards and didn't think to get the overall picture. Here's a couple of pics with a wider view that should help....

Re: Sony XBR-65X810C Bad Panel?
Ok. Got a chance to get some screen pics with the tcon ribbons to edge cards both connected vs connected one at a time. Also adding some pics of the panel edge boards. Also was able to get voltage reading from the tcon with neither ribbon connected, both connected and one at a time. Now I need to find & check the test points on the edge boards. Man those are tiny.

Neither Both Left Right

Re: Sony XBR-65X810C Bad Panel?
I'll get some pics of the edge boards and of the screen with each side of the tcon disconnected tomorrow.
Thanks.
