I tested the screen seems to be ok it shows up while a bright lights directed at it, also did resistor to ground to remove the 6 blink inv err, still get no back light . The problem seems to be with power supply 395 pfc volts supplying the inverter boards is only 8.5 not enough to supply the inverters properly? I tested components on both inverter boards and power supply. They all seem good. I would like to at least get it narrowed down to the individual board that's at fault. I have fixed 60 or so lcd & plasmas mostly to component level but this ones frying my brain. Anyone with incite/help on this model? I do have access to o-scope, signal generator etc. I have the basic multi meter, esr, variable 15vdc ps at home. Its my first time posting pic hope there ok from my phone.

Re: kdl-52w4100 6 blink error issue need help
I forgot to add that I get all voltages @ back light on 1.82v, dimmer 1.71v and all other connections seem good how printed on the boards, but pfc's 395v going to the inverter boards being very low. I have the service manual also, It states the inverter boards are the issue but, I find no problems on them at all. Was thinking of removing the pfc connectors then inject the 395v into them to see if there ok but I can't do this until Monday @ school & if its wise to do this or not? -

Are you getting only 8.5V at those two large 450VDC cap also?

Re: kdl-52w4100 6 blink error issue need help
Thanks budm I had the manual already but it made me look at it again. Looking at the manual it is pointing me toward the main board, the inv err is normally high I thought it was supposed to be low like the bal err, whoops. I'm also only getting 1.8 for bl on and it should be 3.3vdc. after testing all the other inverter circuits and they were good had me lost. time to order a new board, I will update if it is good to go with a new one.Comment

Re: kdl-52w4100 6 blink error issue need help
Well the training manual lead me wrong its not the main bu board. I'm going to have to test the output of the inverters going to the balancer boards Monday. The trouble shooting flow chart was wrong! go figure well guess if it was easy every body would do it. lol On to the Panasonic sc repair for now.Comment

Re: kdl-52w4100 6 blink error issue need help
Ok here was the issue a 16v 100mf cap was shorted (odd) on the d5 inverter board tied to a IC on the back as there's only a couple caps there they all looked good, replace them all & another TV was saved.Comment

by cheeky2For anyone interested just repaired this Sony Main board TV that had a 2 blink error code, the chassis is a RB2G which is common to quite a few different Sony models. The Ceramic 10uF 25V X7R 1206 capacitor C9114 was shorted which took the smd 2A 0603 fuse out F9101. This was powering the Buck converter TPS54332 which caused no 5V output from it.
See the attached picture of the locations of both components. I also attach the best service manual I found for this board for anyone else in a similar position of trying to repair this main board. It's not specific to the TV model however it gives...01-08-2024, 05:56 AM -
by rouninHi everyone,
I'm working on a MacBook Air 2020 (A2337, board 820-02016) and running into a strange USB-C issue. I've gone through quite a bit of testing and part replacement, but I'm stuck — hoping someone here can shed some light.
🛠 Original Issue
The machine initially wouldn't negotiate 20V over USB-C — stuck at 5V.
Diagnosis showed PP1V5_UPC0_LDO_CORE shorted to ground.
I replaced U3100 (UF400) using a donor board (A2179), and the machine powers on fine now.

by clooI recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.
So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...01-06-2025, 06:02 AM -
by ugamazingI have three identical-spec 820-01700 boards (2.6/32/512), and ALL THREE boards came to us with the same fault, from different sources: The boards don't wake from hibernation with the keyboard or lid, they ONLY wake when you press the power button. I understand this is a very minor issue, but the boards must be fixed!
We will of course begin with the obvious (checking lid signals), but I couldn't help but notice these three boards were all 32GB variants. Has anyone noticed an issue relating to these 32GB boards in particular? I of course don't think it's a RAM issue, but it's bizarre... -
by DreadnoughtHi. Firstly I apologise if I break any forum unwritten rules, as I'm new here. I've used badcaps for advice in the past, but I've only just joined. I'm self taught, so I don't have anywhere near the knowledge that some of you guys have, but I can only hope to keep learning and get there one day.
Anyway, I've been working on a TV recently. It's the one listed in the title. Logik L40DIGB20. It powers on fine, with the standby light turning blue as it should. The backlight turns on for a second, then goes off. Using a flashlight, I can see an image on the screen. The power supply is fine,...02-08-2021, 12:28 PM - Loading...
