Re: Vizio GV47LFHDTV10A No Picture No Sound Fix
Well parts came in and just finished installing those lil guys. TV powers on as it should with backlight and will now turn off without having to unplug it. I am not sure what is going on with the hdmi ports, plugged in a chromecast and I get nothing on either port. Could it be a setting or are those hdmi ports toast? I did try a dvd player hooked up via rca cables and the picture looks great. The speakers are not plugged in and I wouldnt imagine that interfering with the hdmi ports or am I wrong?Last edited by bleed4me; 02-09-2016, 12:40 AM.Comment

Re: Vizio GV47LFHDTV10A No Picture No Sound Fix
So I am curious about the DCV readings now on those two new ICs.
So do you know the history of this TV? It might have been hit by the surge which usually also come through the HDMI ports.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio GV47LFHDTV10A No Picture No Sound Fix
I never get a straight answer to the tvs story when I pick them up. I mostly just get "oh it just stopped working". This TV was no different so sadly I have no story to tell. So if it was a surge does it typically ruin the HDMI port itself or is it the board that faults out? As soon as I get home I will most definitely get you the voltage readings.Comment

You can check and see if the HDMI chips get the Voltage to them or look for damaged chips.Never stop learning

Re: Vizio GV47LFHDTV10A No Picture No Sound Fix
Well budm you were right they are tricky to solder. Got the voltage readings like you asked and it appears I need to revisit DU4
DU4
pin 1-0
pin 2-0
pin3 - 3.32
U5
pin 1-.71
pin 2- 1.97
pin 3- 3.33
You think that could be the cause of the hdmi issue?Comment

Re: Vizio GV47LFHDTV10A No Picture No Sound Fix
After revisiting DU4 TV now FULLY works as it should. HDMI all work as they should now, new voltages
DU4
pin 1- 0
pin 2-1.25
pin 3- 3.3
Just want to say a huge thanks to all that chimed in expecially nicktv and budm, couldnt have done it without you. Your knowledge and patience is much appreciated. Learned a great deal with this tv and I have you guys and this forum to thank for that.Comment

Re: Vizio GV47LFHDTV10A No Picture No Sound Fix
I have the same model GV47LFHDTV10A that has a damaged main board.Anybody have the actual schematic for it?I can only find trouble shooting charts for and I need a true schematic that shows me what parts connect to what. Also if you've the schematic for the audio board and anything else it would be much appreciated.I've had the set sitting in storage so I can give the actual board part numbers but I'd love to fix it.Thank you in advanceComment

Hi I just registered to thank the members in this thread.
It helped me fix my TV, it had the same symptoms no picture an no sound, checked all the voltage regulators and fuses and U4 was bust. Luckily I could source one from and old Xbox360 DVD drive PCB I had laying around.Comment

by ggil44Hi I inherited a Vizio M65-E0 that isn't working. It must have been dropped on the corner because I found that the infrared circuit had a capacitor with one end broken off of the board and some green corrosion around the plug to the main board. I re-soldered the capacitor and cleaned the corrosion well and tried turning the M65-E0 on and I was successful. My problem is that while the back lights come on and appear to perform local dimming there is no picture or sound. It kind of looks like you are looking at the TV through a very dense fog, where changing the input on the remote will change bright...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

- when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

by MgiffuneI have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started βfading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.
I ordered a supposedly βnew' Tcon board this time, and... -
by IerwinHello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged... - Loading...
