A tough one but it looks like a t-con board problem.

I thought the same thing at first, then I remembered that "VP" usually means it's a plasma.

Ah yeah. Thought it was weird to have Vizio with Samsung LCD, very rare. Samsung PDP means test pattern can be initiated using 3-4 pin jumper usually to see if control board is the cause or if it is elsewhere. It looks more like buffer board or -Vsc fault.

Here are the pictures under the over. Caps are ok from visual inspection.

                    Tom,

Buffer board on ebay is about $30. Should I go ahead order one?

                    Thanks.

I'd check all the panel and power supply voltages to confirm they are good before placing an order (see red markings in attachments). All measurements are taken by placing your neg lead on a metal part of the chassis and the positive lead on the test point. VE voltage sample on the X-main is taken differently. Ignore the VSCH measurement - not needed. Compare your measurements to the panel label specs.

                        Failure Symptom

No picture, just red vertical stripes. Google search shows quite common problem for these recent Vizio M series although red vertical stripe pattern may differ. Some call it "Netflix" boot screen haha.

                        Where is the short?

Panel has 4x buffer boards. Quickly found the 1/4 panel buffer board with the problem by selectively disconnecting buffer board flex cables.

Having recently fixed another Vizio with similar symptoms that was a shorted ESD diode array ( link ) Probed the ESD diode array but...

VIZIO M60-C3 Can the vertical line be fixed?
                        by tmhobadcap
I am trying to help my friend to fix his Vizio tv with a vertical line on the screen. The line is on the right side. It is blue/purple on the right side starting from the top. But it only goes to about 3/4 of the screen height (not to the bottom of the screen). It is very obvious when the screen is dark and it is hard to be seen when the screen is bright. Please help....

My Father called me he has a Vizio E60-c3 that's probably 3-4-5 years old but it has a thin blue line running down the center of the screen (photo) I tried a couple things but I'm sure one of you all have seen this already. Been a while since I've been here hope all is well. Thank you in advance....

                        Kogan - KALED65XU9220STB - Blue Vertical Line
                        by TrueSword88
                        Hi all.

I have a Kogan 65' LCD Panel with a thin blue vertical line (top to bottom) on left hand side of panel.
The line just happens to coincide with the end of COF and start of the next COF (attached).

The line is permanent no matter what I've tried. I've tried pressure testing the panel (top to bottom) and all over, I didn't notice any difference with the line, either temporary or semi-permanent.

Also tried unplugging all flex cables, cleaned with isopropyl then re-inserting to no avail - line remains.

                        Hoping to fix...

To fix laptop screen vertical line by working on its EDP cable
                        by almarhum
Has one here really gone through fixing laptop screen vertical line(s) by repairing/replacing its Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable, so would recount and share the complete steps of the process here now?

As most, if not all, believe the laptop screen vertical line(s) caused by defective Embedded DisplayPort (EDP) cable which slipped and passed through either laptop screen hinge but post here is asking help to elaborate definitively the useful, real knowledge of repairing in the most complete, correct way, esp. can decide/determine whether the cable can still be fixed or must be re...
