Hi Budm, Can you point me in the right direction to get the right Voltage Regulator.. everywhere I've tried has not got them.

Variable regulator pin 1 voltage of 0.70V + 1.25V ref then the output should be 1.95v but you are getting 3.22V, so it is bad. The voltage between pin 1 and pin 2 should always be 1.25V for 1117 series variable regulator.

      1117L -> line 2 of the IC
      pin 1 = 0.70
      pin 2 = 3.22
      pin 3 = 5.03

Now changed this regulator and getting

      Pin 1 = 0.71
      Pin 2 = 1.37
      Pin 3 = 0.84

      Still not turning on.

        Pin 1 = 0.71
        Pin 2 = 1.37
        Pin 3 = 0.84

That cannot be right, you were getting 5.03V input voltage and now you are getting 0.84V input and the output is higher than the input, so that is not right at all. 1.25 +.71 = 1.96V, you are getting 1.37V.

That is the right one, you need to find out why you are not getting the 5V on pin 3 (last pin on the right as shown on EBAY).

RIght, got a 2nd hand main AV board from ebay and fitted it today.

The set now turns on but before it does the blue LED at the front of the set blinks red a few times then the back light comes on. I however dont get any display from the menu or a source.

                    Any ideas?

Have just received the same model.Different fault,in that it took a long time to come on,LED flashing then going back to Standby. All the caps looked good,But using my ESR meter, the Capxon one( where the Green one is shown in the photo)was 47uF @35v,but with an ESR of 18Ω.Replaced and now excellent.

Right update on this, Replaced all the caps on the power board and still the same issue. The board powers up and back lights fire up but no picture.

/me thinks it will be the av board that I got from Ebay is faulty

I am trying to fix a samsung washinmachine power supply main board.
I already replaced it with another one to fix the machine but i want to try understand the issue with the old board.
Therefore i hope to be able to get some help to explain what to check in order to troubleshoot.
The power supply board reference is the following: DC41-00189a

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

Originally the tv arrived with dimmed backlights (not failed leds) but everything else worked ok. Adjusting backlight in menu did nothing but voltage changed on dimming control pins,
                                0% p_dim at 1.65v and a_dim at 1v
                                50% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 1.65v
                                100% p_dim at 3.3v and a_dim at 2.88v

Changed backlight leds anyway as always like to have complete peace of mind they wont fail shortly after selling the tv. No change as expected!

Leds are 2 rows of 15 6v leds.

On inspection of the power board found diode MBR3200 shorted so replaced with...

Sceptre U550CV-UMR 4K LED, Bad Caps on Main Power Board?

Hi and thanks in advance for any input you might provide!
I have a Sceptre U550CV-UMRD8POTV83BB 4K LED (this is a dumb tv) that I bought new in August 2021, so It's just completed 3 years.
Main power board model: TP.MS3683.PC821 T-Con board: N4TP546UHDPU2L_BO

Last Sunday I was watching a dvd and fell asleep for about half hour, when I awoke the tv screen was black and couldn't get the dvd menu to show, so I changed the input to antenna and had sound but no picture, turned it off. I then got online and found this great site! ....read many troubleshooting tips and this...

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock

I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

                                After all of...
