It just looks to have a few additional features, the main functionality is unchanged and it should work fine.

        Re: samsung UN22D5010 no power

        sounds good tom

but i may have found the actual IC i need

im just waiting on the sales guy to email me if they have it in stock

if they do not have it or it has a long lead time i will just order the one from ebay or digikey

        thanks

          Re: samsung UN22D5010 no power

I can not find the original IC
So I ordered one from digikey and one from ebay
Now I play the waiting game
I will post after I solder and reinstall the board
Hopefully this will fix the issue

hey tom im thinking of buying this o scope
do you think it's worth buying for diagnosing issues on lcds and plasmas?

it is a simpson dual trace o scope model number 452

It is probably only just about good enough for most uses, but how much will it cost you? I would pay up to $30 for that, because it would be useful for most repairs, but may struggle on some types of diagnosis.

Ok I installed the new ic and the fuse

I plugged in the power cord and there is still no power
                  No led on the front

                  What do I test now?

Did you ever completely test the components surrounding that bad IC? I had a similar IC in a Vizio that took out three to four components when it burned.

Here is a pic of the surrounding components
New Ic is under heat sink

How should I test each component?

It looks like the IC mostly blew out to the right, but I'd test these components. You may have to de-solder one of the leads on each component if your readings are questionable:

                        - Resistor (RM805): Ohm scale on meter.
                        - Diodes (DM801 and DM802): Diode mode on meter. Place your meter leads on each lead of the diode, respectively, record the reading, then swap your meter leads. You should get a reading in one direction (something like 0.5V) and no reading in the opposite direction.

The blue cap to the right of JP825 appears to be fine. I'd also flip the board over to look for components in the vicinity that could have been damaged.

It actually blew out to the right and forward towards the transformer

                            I think I found a shorted diode

                            DM801: 0.470
                            Dm802: OFL

                            RM805: 0.5 ohms
CM809: 6.95 ohms then it starts to go down

Blue cap next to JP825 reads OFL on ohm setting

I just found a blown component

Its one of the extremely small chips
I dont know what its actually called

Is this difficult to remove and replace?
How am I suppose to figure what part number this and order?

Your readings don't look complete. The diodes need to be read with the meter leads on opposite leads of the component then you swap them to take a second reading: Two readings per diode. It looks like your resistor is shorted, though. I'd remove the resistor and test it off the board. A burn mark on a resistor is usually a bad sign.

Bud may have a better idea on that burned component on the backside of the board. Is it in the vicinity of the burned IC on the front of the board?

Edit: Never mind. I saw the JP825 jumper and realized that the component on the backside is near the bad IC.

Can I see the bigger picture on on that back side so I can see how that blown IC are connected to the blown part? Make it JPEG.
That blown device ICM851 is going to be hard to know what it is.

OK, that part is more likely to be the ref Diode which is part of the regulation feedback. Since it burnt so bad, that means the surge must have come through the Cold secondary side of the circuit, so more likely you will have more damaged parts in the power supply and the main board.

So should I just search for the psu board and main board on ebay or should I continue to go down the line and locate each individual defective component?

                                            Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                            Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone and thanks in advance for any help I might get here

My Samsung TV is about 4 years old. The exact model number is UE75MU7009TXZG.
About half a year ago I started seeing occasional green frames pop up while watching movies. I mean literally green frames. Not the image turning green, but the entire screen turning green for a split second. This happened maybe once or twice during a 2 hour movie. So no big deal, but clearly something was not quite right.

Since a few days, the TV won't turn...

Samsung TV won't turn on ... keeps cycling the power relay on & off

                                            Hi All,
First time posting here ... my name is Kevin but my friends call me Journey.
I have a Samsung 75" LCD model UN75RU8000FXZA that I don't remember the original fault other than it wouldn't power up anymore.
After it sat for many month's I decide to look at it again. The motherboard seemed to have power regulation issues. After much fussing I decided to just get a new MB.
It came a few days ago and I installed it now just cycles the power relay on and off ... when on the backlights light up and then dim and then relay kicks off and the whole things starts again....

Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
