Its been a long time since i been on here.
Anyway i searched the model number but no threads on this issue
I pulled this unit out of my companys electronics recycling bin
Wouldnt turn on so after opening it up discovered 2 bad caps
Replaced the 2 caps harvested from a different psu which where the same brand and rating .
I only did this to determine if the unit would power up which it did.
it has a vertical black bar and I dont recall if the issue is due to a bad tab bond or a faulty chip.
Is this repairable or should...
Thank you to the guys at HEGE supporting Badcaps [ HEGE ] [ HEGE DEX Chart ]

DVOM dmsc683 turns on and off when i shake or bump it
i have a bluepoint digital volt meter that does not turn on unless i hit it or shake it.
If i shake itnor place it down hard it will shut off
I opened it and noticed a component has some odd wear on it
I tried looking it up on digikey but it doesnt show up
Can someone help me identify the component?
Hopefully this will fix the issue...

No sound but i do have picture
I connected my laptop and a dvd player but no sound from the tv
Also i checked the specs on this model and it has a digital tuner
https://www.cnet.com/products/philips-32pfl3506-f7/specs/
So i connected an antenna and did an auto channel program and it will not pick up any channels
I checked the boards for any physical damage and none at all
Should i just change the main board or what can i test?

At what temperature and air speed do you use the hot air gun on the rework station?

Re: Proscan PLDED3992A-C led failure?
I cant find replacement strips so i will replace the individual faulty leds.
I removed the diffusers and tested each led
I think i found the faulty led on the end.
Plus the burn mark on the back of the strip is probably a good indicator lol...

Re: Proscan PLDED3992A-C led failure?

i disconnected the top LED strip and probed it with tester and the strip does not light up
i did the same with the other strips and they do light up
do i have to de-solder the LEDs?...
