Before I toss these on the basis of bad panels...

I thought I'd post some pix here to get some feedback.

The Toshiba 52" seems to be a common problem. I replaced the t-con w/no success.
I replaced the main/t-con board on the Samsung 32" with no success.
I also replaced the main and t-con boards on the RCA with no success. The distorted video moves with the "No Signal" box.
I haven't replaced anything on the Samsung Monitor yet.

Has anyone had success repairing display driver boards?

    Thank you!

    Craig

Panel, Panel, Panel/Main, Panel/Main/PSU (bad caps if SyncMaster T24x series)

You cannot replace the driver boards and besides there's little to no point. They only serve to connect the T-con to the tab bonds. Just like a connection block.

The monitor is a SyncMaster T240HD.
      What capacitor(s) are problematic?
      Thanks!

All of them. Crappy Samwha or Capxon usually bulge.

On the PS, or main board, or both?

          Thanks!

Craig, I have been playing with some of these Toshiba's. What I have been finding is the tab to screen bonding is not making a good connection sometimes. I have taken like a wide paint scraper, set it on the tab and put it up against the LCD screen so it doesn't get to hot, take hot air solder gun and run it over a few times, hold down on the scraper while it cools. Sometimes it's the small IC in the middle of the tab that has to be resolder. I had some that stayed working and some lasted a couple of months. Just a thought if you wanted to try something.

              Thanks for the reply.
I noticed on the ribbon cable going to the portion of the screen that is not working has a "damaged" trace. I considered attempting to repair it with a piece of wire, but my experience is that those ribbon cables can not handle being soldered.

I checked the PS and Main boards for Samwha or Capxon caps and there aren't any.
The PS has Sam Young caps, none are bulging. The PS voltages are good and there is no unusual AC ripple on any of them.
The main board has all SMD caps with no manufacturer printed on them. None of them are bulging either. I checked the ESR on all and they seem fine.

Anything else, or is it a bad panel?

I'll check the continuity of the LVDS cable tomorrow.

It would be a real shame to have to toss this monitor. It is in like new condition.

One lady drove a broken t240hd to me at her cost and gave it to me for free after I responded to her craigslist listing for it / apparently she wanted it gone now!. I took it apart and the LVDS was loose that was all > best monitor ive ever spend 0 money for. For me though the upper 2/3 of the screen would go black and the lower 1/3 would freeze... but either way shows the lvds cable is a pretty weak point on these / probably related to the fact that Samsung uses no screws in these / everything taped / notched together...
Fixed so far 12 lcd's , 1 plasmas, 5 monitors, 0 dlp's (plan to keep the dlps at 0). and 3 atx power supplies, and 2 motherboards.

Craig, I guess I shouldn't use the term re-solder. All I did was heat them up again so they would reseat themselves, like a bad solder joint. Sorry not the greatest at explaining things.

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
                      by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
                      by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

                      Sell or Shim Solar panels?
                      by eccerr0r
Well, due to my grid tie inverter not accepting high voltages, and the fact that the lions in my solar panels are 36V (72-cell) I think I need to stick with 72-cell.

However I have a few smaller panels that are 36, 32, and two 30-cell. The 36 and 32 together run at 75% efficiency (and subtract more with additional inefficiencies) when running in parallel with the 72-cell panels. The kicker is that the two 30s... generate 0% power when connected in parallel(!)

So now what to do with these small panels?

                      I could sell them...

                      Or I could shim them....

LG OLED77G1PUA - No Video / Audio after a TCON Board change and Software Update
                      by Hakuu
                      Hi There,

This TV was auto switching off after few seconds with some vertical lines on the screen, so got a new TCON board and replaced it.

After replacing the TCON board it was working fine and i set it up with everything, used for few hours, then had the bright idea to update the software on it. During the update process, TV switched off and now no audio or video. No relay switch sound.

Got the same exact TCON board from TVPartsToday and replaced it. But didnt transfer the EPPROM data (didnt...

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
                      by Daren87
                      Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...
