Re: Sharp LC-C4067U Video problem
Turns out it's a bad panel. I found a melted/shorted section on one the ribbon cables going to the panel.
Another TV for the recycler! Too bad!

Sharp LC-C4067U Video problem
Aloha Folks!
I have the above Sharp TV that had a blown out T-CON board (blown fuse, shorted bypass cap and cooked chip). I put in 2 replacement boards, purchased off eBay, and I get the result shown in the picture. Pressing "Menu" or any other buttons does not change the display.
Is this a main board problem?
Mahalo!

LTY320AP04 Sony KDL-32EX301 Panel problem
Hi Folks!
I have a Sony KDL-32EX301 with an LTY320AP04 Panel and I read a short across C1 (far right in first picture of panel driver board) and C2 (far left in second picture of panel driver board).
It's not either of the caps and I've attempted to find a component on the board that might be shorted to ground using a continuity meter and I have been unable to find any.
My fear is it's the panel itself. The TV was working, and then it started showing some vertical lines on the display and then shut down. Now the standby LED blinks 5 times, which apparently indicates a panel...

sharp lc-45gd4u No Video, No Sound at first
I'm working on a sharp lc-45gd4u LCD TV that after power up, has no video and no sound, but has back lights. It turns off after about 30-45 seconds.
According to the owner, if he turns it on an off a number of times, it will eventually come on. He says the amount of time it takes to come on is getting increasingly longer, and is now over an hour.
I did see the TV on and when it's on, it works fine. It can be turned off and back on within a few minutes, but if it stays off more than about 10 minutes, you have to turn it on and off for another hour to get it back on....

Re: Emerson LF501em4f wierd problem
Well, finally got back to this beast.
Yep, no markings on either board. I did find 12VDC, 21VDC and 3.3VDC on the PS board end of the ribbon cable.
I also unplugged the TCON connector and that didn't change anything.
I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what failed on the main board after turning it off and then on again. That is very odd to me.
I checked the output on the regulators on the main board and those voltages seem fine, too.

Emerson LF501em4f wierd problem
I have an Emerson LF501em4f that I determined had a bad main board. Power supply seems to be working fine. I purchased a new board on eBay, installed it and plugged the TV in. TV came on everything looked good accept the video ribbon cable was apparently not inserted properly, so I turned off the TV by hitting the power button. I re-seated the video ribbon cable and then turned the TV back on and nothing! Back to where I was before the replacement main board: constantly blinking red led (~ once/second).
Re-checked power supply voltages still look good.
Any help would be GREATLY...

Re: Samsung BN96-03775A Power Supply Problem
I get 170 V in standby mode. I get it to stay on by reducing any output load, the easiest is to unplug the inverter plug, and that's when I get the 200 V. So maybe it's because it's operating at a lower output load.
The voltages across the main cap are also all over the place. It is only steady in standby mode.
I was watching the gate drive pin on the PFC MOSFET with my scope and the pulses were square when it was working, but more rounded when it wasn't.
I suspect the problem is in the PFC circuit, but I've...

Samsung BN96-03775A Power Supply Problem
Hi Folks,
I've read through all of the threads associated with this power supply and none of them address my problem. I need help!!!!
The TV sometimes works for hours, but other times it won't stay on at all.
The voltage on the main cap (CP812) is only at 200 volts when the TV won't stay on. It's up around 370 volts when it works.
I've changed just about everything, but it sounds more like a bad connection somewhere. I've scrutinized every inch of the board with a magnifying glass, but can't see any problems. I re-soldered most, if not all of...

Re: Samsung LE32R74BDX Backlight flicker
Did you figure out what was causing your problem?
I have the same problem and I've tried everything suggested here with no success. I have also replaced all of the electrolytic caps on the board.
Thanks!

Re: Before I toss these on the basis of bad panels...
I checked the PS and Main boards for Samwha or Capxon caps and there aren't any.
The PS has Sam Young caps, none are bulging. The PS voltages are good and there is no unusual AC ripple on any of them.
The main board has all SMD caps with no manufacturer printed on them. None of them are bulging either. I checked the ESR on all and they seem fine.
Anything else, or is it a bad panel?
I'll check the continuity of the LVDS cable tomorrow.
It would be a real shame to have...

Re: Before I toss these on the basis of bad panels...
Thanks for the reply.
I noticed on the ribbon cable going to the portion of the screen that is not working has a "damaged" trace. I considered attempting to repair it with a piece of wire, but my experience is that those ribbon cables can not handle being soldered.

Help needed with MT230DW01 V.0 InnoLux LCD Screen
In the process of replacing a switcher chip on the display driver board for this screen, I inadvertently lost an adjacent capacitor.
If anyone can tell me what the capacitance of C230 is, I would be eternally grateful, to say the least!
If anyone has a cracked MT230DW01 V.0 InnoLux LCD Screen and they would be willing to remove the driver board and send/sell it to me, that works, too!
Thanks!

Re: akai lct3285ta power on issue
Thanks Ben!
One of the 10uf caps in the 5 volt PS section was bad. Turns on great now.
All that I need to do now is figure out why the buttons and remote don't work for the first 5-10 minutes.

Sanyo DP26670 cej508a PS problem
I'm working on this Sanyo 26" (It's in like new condition, otherwise I wouldn't bother) and the backlight power supply is only putting out around 17v.
I've checked and replaced the 2 caps in the circuit, the KIA431 shunt regulator and the MOSFET with no success. I can't locate a schematic but from what I can see on the board, it's a circuit I haven't seen before.
The backlight supply has a MOSFET on the secondary side of the xfmr (labeled "MOSFET" in the attached pic). The drain of the MOSFET has 27 V (unloaded) and the source has about 19v. It's an N-channel FET...

Before I toss these on the basis of bad panels...
I thought I'd post some pix here to get some feedback.
The Toshiba 52" seems to be a common problem. I replaced the t-con w/no success.
I replaced the main/t-con board on the Samsung 32" with no success.
I also replaced the main and t-con boards on the RCA with no success. The distorted video moves with the "No Signal" box.
I haven't replaced anything on the Samsung Monitor yet.
Has anyone had success repairing display driver boards?
Thank you!

Re: Samsung Plasma Color Snow
Still snow with the menu.
I have set all the voltages according to the label.
I have a scope, but how do I know if the waveforms are correct?
The service manual doesn't show them.
Would they be the same as any plasma TV? I know the Vizio P50HDM manual has images of the waveforms. Should I just go by that?
Thanks!
Craig
