Need some help with an Insignia LCD

Hi, I was given a broken Insignia ns-l32q-10a, hoping it would be an easy fix.
The problem is quite erratic, but the main issue it the TV messes up after about 45 minutes to 2 hours. Sometimes it will do one of the following:

-Power indicator turns off (no led on at all) or red, no sound, but screen is still on playing video, and it won't respond to any button presses.
-Power indicator turns red, no sound, screen randomly turns on and off with scrambled video, again will not respond to button presses.
-Power indicator stays blue, but the tv says no signal, and I have to switch the input source back and forth to get it to see the signal again.

I have thoroughly inspected both the mainboard and the power supply, and there are no caps that look dead visually. I replaced all but one of the caps on the cold side of the power supply, to no avail. (all but one because radioshack(ugh) didn't have the last one.)

Any idea what could be the issue, and if it is even fixable?
    Thanks

I can get some pictures if needed.

The caps you buy at radio shack are no good in this application. You need 105C low ESR caps such as the panasonic FC and FM series

I'm starting to wonder if the issue isn't heat related. On a hunch I left the back cover off the tv and set up a fan pointed to blow across the back of the tv and it's been working for about 4 hours without issue. Oddly enough it looks like the cpu on the main board has a heat sink on it, but the chip and heat sink are enclosed in a metal box.

I would get a can of frez and when it goes off spray the chip and see if it comes back up if so i would replace it. If not try spraying other things. To see if it comes back up if so replace that part.

It looks like the heatsink is slipping off the CPU chip, it is on crooked. The thermal interface pad may be not holding the heatsink in place very well.

The heatsink is actually still firmly attached, just mounted slightly crooked. Though it looks like it is off and resting on the metal cage in the pic. I ended up mounting an 80mm case fan on the back casing right above the heatsink, tapping power off one of the 12vdc lines coming off the power supply. I then used an adjustable voltage regulator set to roughly 8vdc to lower the fan speed to a level where it didn't make any noise.

Nice fix, but if the processor is failing (e.g. solder balls - BGA failure), this is probably not going to last any more than a few months.

Eh, it was almost free (wasted money on non-needed caps), so better than nothing. Plus there's always the good old heatgun reflow .

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable
                  by Stephen
MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro Turns on functions then turns off when I plug in USB C cable to reset the computer. I disconnect the battery fully and then reconnect it and it won't turn back on. After letting it sit for a day I plug the battery back up, and the MagSafe 3 cable and it powers on and stays ons, once I plug in a USB C cable into the port closes to the MagSafe port it turns off and the Amber light turns off and won't turn on. No water damage, nothing, I want to do a DFU restore to wipe the computer since the customer stated they did an update and ever since it just decided to not work...

LG L192WS-BN backlight turns off after 1 second
                  by www
I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

Samsung UE55F8000SZ Turns on and off immediately
                  by Egidio85
good morning, I have a samsung UE55F8000SZ tv that turns on, shows the logo and turns off after 1-2 seconds.
This defect happens continuously, hearing the classic click of the relay every time.

                  Power supply board BN44-00636B

disconnecting the mains and lamps from the power board always causes the same problem.
Is it normal that without anything connected this power supply turns on and off cyclically?
any suggestions on what to check?

                  thanks in advance

                  Hi Badcaps,

I've had a friend discard a TH-65DX700Z Pansonic Viera Television and I've decided to have a go at repairing it. If possible could I please get some advice in terms of diagnosing the problem so I can purchase the appropriate parts for repair whether it be components, a repair kit or a replacement board. I am happy to post pictures if required.

                  TV Details:

                  Model # - TH-65DX700Z

                  Symptoms:

The television turns on and displays a picture then makes a clicking sound and turns off.

I haven't opened it up yet but...
