I am testing an old LG L192WS-BN monitor I have that gives an image, but has a backlight issue. When you turn it on the backlight turns on 1 second and it turns off, turns on again, 1 second and it turns off and stays off. Using a flashlight I can see there's still an image.

I replaced a bulged cap on the main board, but made no difference. I also got another exact same model monitor that has a broken ccfl (the connector got ripped from the panel and the main screen connector is also broken so I can't use this panel to test), tried using the main board from this one, same issue....

Ok, I've measured the caps that I need to replace, also found that I need 4x 1500uf, one was "hidden" under a modified cooler I added. So this is what I need:

4x 1500uF 6.3v 10mm
3x 1000uF 6.3v 8mm
2x 470uF 16v 8mm

If I can get them shipped to my country I'd like to buy them here at badcaps.net, so this is what I found in the badcaps store:

Would you guys recommend using all the replacement caps from the same brand (and series) or that doesn't matter?

Because I see on badcaps store that Rubycon 1000uF 6.3v are not available anymore (and theres a link for rubycon 1000uF 10v instead), but Samxon seems to have all the caps I need.

Also what difference the diameter of the caps make? Should I buy the ones that have the same diameter than the caps I want to replace?

I need:

3x 1500uF 6.3v...

Thanks for clarify that for me. I think I will try by only replacing all the caps first, it looks like i can really mess things up by "reflowing", I guess I'll need something to control the temp to do that safely....

[B]mockingbird[/B]: What do you mean with "reflowing" the GPU? do you have some reading I could check to find out more about that? I will do some research tomorrow anyway but maybe you can guide me better.

I've read the list of GOOD capacitors,...

I've a Zotac GeForce 8600GT ([URL="http://pden.zotac.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=32&category_id=19&flypage=flypage_images.tpl&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1"]this one[/URL]).

I replaced two blown capacitors FZ79, with two Trec GR 1500uf 6.3v 105°c (those are the only I could get near my home, I live in Argentina).

I tried the card, plugged in the monitor, but all I get is a black screen, the monitor goes out of "power saving mode" and it blinks a few times when booting, but no image appears, only black....
