    Samsung LN40B500P3F power on issue

my samsung 40" lcd tv will not turn on, i found that a small fuse (3.15a 240v) was blown, i tried to replace it with a new one and as soon as i plugged the tv in it blew, i was told to check the capacitors and all of them seemed to look good can anyone give me any clues as to what is causing the fuse to blow or what i should be checking for? I appreciate any suggestions, thank you

Please post good clear pictures of all the board, at this point you either have shorted bridge rectifier, or shorted out MOSFET.
Also, what is the P/N as printed on the power supply board, BNXX-XXXXXX?
Make sure to use file attachment function in the GO ADVANCED to up load the pictures, do not post pictures in line.

You should download the service manual for this power supply board, provided by Tom:
          http://www.tgohome.com/ServiceManual...g_BN44-00264A_[SCH].pdf
So please tell us your back ground so we will know what you can do. Do you have tools such as DMM, soldlering itron, know how to read diagram?

I do not have any skills with tv repair but i am a fast learner, i listen well, and i enjoy learning new things, and i am tired of buying new tvs every couple years and throwing out the old ones when i feel they are probably repairable if someone is willing to take the time, and the fact that we cant really afford to buy new tvs anymore

OK, did the TV get hit by power surge or it just stops working by itself?

i tried to download the manual but it says it doesnt exsist anymore? as far as tools go i believe i can get ahold of most of what i might need from a friend. If you could guide me through on what things to check that would be greatly appreciated, just remember i have no idea what alot of components even look like, lol, but i am willing to download pictures, diagrams, etc. if needed, thanks for your help

Next thing I need will be the pictures of the top side of the power supply board, take the pictures in 5 sections so I can easily read the part designator (for example: I want to be able to see Diode DP801, ETC.). Do the same for the bottom side of the board, this will allow me to see the traces on the board so I can tell you the test points on the board. Just remember that I do not have the board in front of me to look at.

You will have to remove the board from the chassis, it will be tight fir due to lamp connection fingers on the board, you will have to slide the board away from the sockets so be careful not to break the fingers.
Can you also post the picture of the meter you will be using?
By the way, the replacement is about $70.

hopefully this works, its alot harder than i thought to take clear pictures of such small numbers, if these dont work let me know it might work better during the daytime with better lighting,

hopefully you will be able to find the faulty part/parts and fix it buying a replacement board is a last resort realy once budm has saw this post i am sure he will point out and talk you through the tests you need to do i would also while you are waiting make sure your multi meter has a good battery in it there's nothing more annoying than a meter reading under voltage etc leading you on a wild goose chase some times.

                                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

Hello Everyone, this is my first post and I am excited to be a part of such a great community. I've been reading these forums for awhile and there really is some good friendly people here. No bashing and being rude like 90% of other forums Ive been to. Lets get to the good stuff.

I have two years of college in Electronics Engineering Technology. Ive been tinkering with electronics sine about 1990. I know enough just to be dangerous, so be gentle.

                                          Hi all,

My Samsung TV display recently stopped working while I was playing PS4 (no storm or anything to indicate a power surge). I could still hear audio through the PS4 but no display. The TV kept trying to turn on but would turn off after a second or two.

I tried the obvious troubleshooting steps like unplugging, replugging, trying different outlets and power cords with no luck. Someone on another forum suggested that it may be a power supply issue so I purchased a replacement power supply board but that did not help. I then disconnected the main board from the...

                                          by lp20th
I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 Power-On Issue (Troubleshooting Assistance)
                                          by justice171
I am seeking guidance on an Acer Spin 1 SP111-33 that does not turn on when pressing the power button.

Below are the observations and troubleshooting steps I have taken so far: Observations and Tests:
                                          1. Verified that all critical voltages are present:
                                            • 3.3V and 5V are always present if DC is plugged.
                                            • 1.8V on the BIOS chip is present.
                                          2. Checked the power button functionality:
                                            • When pressed, the voltage drops to 0V, indicating the button is functional.
                                          3. Inspected the flex cable connecting the USB, audio, and power button to JUB1:
                                            • Confirmed connectivity is intact, ruling out issues
                                          ...
