    Lg 47lh55-ua

    I'm trying to fix my tv, LG 47lh55-ua, but having a little trouble getting information for this model. I have looked at http://www.tgohome.com/servicemanuals and was unable to find the service manual that goes with this tv.

    My questions...

    Is there another free site where I can find the service manual for this specific tv?

    Will another similar manual that is freely available be comparable enough to be able to use the voltage values as a reference when testing the power supply and main boards?

    Thanks for any help...

    ElectroTanya is another site hosting lots of manuals. I can also have a look through my collection of uncategorised (not uploaded) files on the site you linked to, to see if it is available.
    Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!
    For service manual, schematic, boardview (board view), datasheet, cad - use our search.

      Thanks for the site, unfortunately it doesn't carry my model either.

        Sometimes you need to look for similar models. I've seen more than one instance where the model I needed was a secondary or tertiary option on another model's manual.

          If there is a chassis number on the label that can help find it.

              @selldoor
              I'll have to check on that label tonight. This would be inscribed inside the tv, correct?

              @budm
              The tv does not respond at all. The only signs of life is a lonely green led inside the tv on the main board, EAX55729301(19).

              The symptoms are pretty strange to me. The audio cut out while watching a movie via the hdmi input connected to my laptop. I rebooted laptop to see if that would fix the problem... it did help in the past. After not being able to fix audio via laptop reboot I tried a tv reboot, but it was not responsive at all via remote or panel power button. I had no other choice but to pull the plug to turn it off. That was the last time this tv showed any signs of life other than the green led found on the main board.

              I should probably also add that I have taken the tv apart. There are no signs of bad capacitors, although I'm aware that looks alone don't guarantee that. No burn marks anywhere or foul smells.

              Anyone dealt with these symptoms before?

              Thanks for the help, guys.

                ok, thanks... I will try to look through other service manuals to see if mine is listed anywhere.

                  That is exactly my tv, although a bit less dusty.

                  I don't have the white line problems though.

                    I have added pics to make it easier to troubleshoot. I have tried to test all the fuses that I could find on the power supply board, I found 2, and the multimeter read between 16 and 46. This should be right on 0, is that correct?

                        Yes fuses should read "0" same as holding your probes together

                        EDIT- BUT you have your meter on 2000Kohms!!! test them on the lowest scale you have.

                          I took pics of the t-con board, or inverter... actually, not exactly sure what you call this board. I found 1 fuse, and it measures 46 Ohms.

                            Oooops, I see. I thought that was the max it could measure. I changed it to the 2000 range and it jumps around quite a bit. Anywhere from 300 to 700 Ohms on both fuses. I don't quite understand why it would jump around when simply measuring continuity?

                                Put it on the lowest ohms setting and touch the probes together and tell us what you get.
                                It should not jump about at all. ^^^^ Batteries^^^^

                                  Very old, and it has been in storage without use for at least 10 years... maybe more.

                                  However, I think I found the culprit. It seems alligator clips are not the best way to take a measurement. When I hold and press it firmly the measurements stabilize much more. I now get 236 Ohms across F101. Definitely greater than 0 at any rate.

                                    You are right! I get 49 Ohms when I press the leads together. Will all readings be off by 49 Ohms or does this mean it is not reliable until I replace batteries?

                                      Ok, I replaced the battery with a new one and now it is even worse. It jumps around quite a bit. Is this bad leads, or signs that I need a new meter?

                                        Is it jumping around when you just touch them together? Check that they plug into the meter nice and snug, it could be loose there.
