LG 42LG3000 (White Screen with Sound)

Hi all, first time posting here hopefully you can help..

I have a 42" LG TV around 3 - 4 years now and is now randomly turning on to black and slowly fading up to white with sound still working, no tv options show up when you press any buttons.

It's an odd one as I could go down now and turn it on and it'll work all day and then turn off and back on and then black to white and again off and on and works.. been like this a few days now.

Attaching video of what happens (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HU8hsfUKNY)

Any help you can provide will be much appreciated..

    Regards
    Garret

I would take a look at the "LVDS cable". This runs internally from the main board (with the video inputs on it) to the T-con board, which is at the top of the LCD panel on most models. I have seen this when LVDS is loose. If it's not that, I'd consider the T-con itself.

Hi Tom, thank you for your quick responds..

I have a picture here not taken myself it's from another user on the board.

Is the cable your talking about from the main board to the t-con board, is that the board that is connected to the screen itself??

          Cheers.

Thanks to both of you, I will look into this now and take out the wire and reseat and if it's still the same I'll look into replacing the t-con.

I had one similar fault on lcd where it was the flat panel it self due to faulty tab bonding. Faulty supply to the t- con or t con board faulty.

Re: LG 42LG3000 (White Screen with Sound)

So, yesterday i was to LG service. I have a 42LG3000 television, with this simptoms white screen but good sound. Actually i try to change T-con Module, i bought a new one, i replace all condensators, finally from service sad me this: YOUR DISPLAY IS DEAD, ACTUALLY , the matrix from this is broken, its necessary to buy a new one, but may be you need to buy a new tv.
So if you this problem, don't try to change some parts from inside, because 99% the display is broken............
                Good Luck.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                  by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

                  Another TV topic!!
I got this sharp TV that when I first plugged it in it showed the sharp logo and then went to the input screen. This was about 30 seconds and then it showed white screen. Now I can't see anything but white screen. This has a separate TCON and Main.

The TCON is getting 12V and several parts are as well but the VGH line is only .5Volts which I thought is totally incorrect.

Am I on the correct assumption that the TCON is bad somehow if I'm only getting that voltage or is there something else I should check?...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                  by kca
                  Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

Samsung UN60EH6000F Black Screen, Backlight and Sound Good. Power Cycle Returns Picture
                  by Mgiffune
I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and
