actually i think VCC should be pin 8,from the dot on the chip, count round anticlockwise till you get to pin 8,thats your V-IN pin,you should see about 3.6v on this pin
fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

Board back and in standby U6 pin 8 3.29v so it got to be the chip.So do you think it will be Ok for me to solder it in? i will give it a go, I will give Andy a message and see if he can supply the chip, any pointers for soldering the new chip do you use no clean flux or not i have a nice small iron so should be alright

confirms that other voltages are ok,3.29v is right for VCC input.

use no clean flux for removal of old chip add new solder to the pins to aid removal,

dont use a low wattage iron or you will end up lifting traces a 60w will be fine.

          clean pads with alcohol .

use no clean flux, observing correct position of dot on ic designates pin 1 on the board.drop ic on the pads, tack one corner to hold ic,and away you go with the rest of the soldering.

just check with a magnifier to make sure no solder whiskers are shorting pins as it could blow the new ic,re-assemble tv,power up .

Hi It works, i would like to thank multimeter for all his help, and a big thanks to Andy (ohm supplies) for opening a trade account for me and making sure i got the right chip, as you can see its all boxed up awaiting a remote and then it will be out the door, And may i add that the cost of the preprogramed ic with recorded postage and vat was about £10.

Re: Neon C3298DVB stuck in standby

Glad it worked and good for sticking with it.

There was a delay on the order as explained in the email. I didn't have time to read the whole thread and thought someone might of suggested trying the original order. I have now read all the thread. With these EEPROMS they're very specific to the chassis used. You can get one that works and you just need to go into service mode to sort the screen,, others will remain lifeless, stuck in stand by , pulse etc if the wrong EEPROM is used, even form a set with the same chassis and screen type.

Here are a list of MANUFACTUERS that MAKE and SELL these EEPROMS:

                    http://www.cypress.com/?rID=43987
                    http://www.atmel.com/products/memories/serial/spi.aspx
                    http://www.onsemi.com/PowerSolutions...do?id=CAT25256
                    http://www.st.com/web/catalog/mmc/FM76/CL1276

As you can see, they're all referred to as EEPROM but are different to the 24XX that are more commonly found in earlier sets. More modern sets are using SPI EEPROMS along with the 24XX , (although these would normally be found near the HDMI ports) so before shorting anything, try reading the markings on the IC and if unsure pull up the datasheet and as the info. on the eeprom suits to beign transfered over the 'tinernet, it makes good sence to ask if someone has the file and trying to program the one in the set (making sure your programmer can handle that ic)

We're finding that manufactures will use different ic's with the same cct. refs as they do the same job (probably down to price) so simply reading the markings means you might find an equivalent IC in stock and cheaper.
Hope that clears questions that have been brought up on this tread. I presume being referred to as a “rip off” was possibly misinformed comment?

                    Regards
                    Andy

                      Hello

I have an TV Led 4K Selecline 65s18 with mainboard T.MS3458.U801

The TV is faulty with stuck in Standby RED LED. Can't power the TV.

Before this problem , the TV stuck the picture with artefact , i unplug the AC cable and since the tv is stuck in standby .

All voltage are OK on PSU and main board for regulator. I tried flash firmware 25Q64 with many dumps

But the voltage on power button is 0.6V not 3.3V. When i press power button the voltage up to 0V. I tried to add 5V with Power Supply on 5V_STB and 3.3V on Power...

                      by lego1234567
Hi. I have the following problem with my TV. After connecting to mains, the standby led (red) turns on, but TV is not responding to remote control or buttons on TV. After some measurements, I found out that +5 V standby voltage is present, but I dont have ON/OFF signal coming in to turn PSU on. It stays at zero volts. After looking at the schematic of the mainboard, I should get ON/OFF signal coming in at the R1402 resistor, but it stays around +3,5 V. So I removed it and I was able to turn on TV with buttons on TV, but not with remote control.

What could be the problem ? Thanks...

Hi techs, I have a Samsung ua39eh5003r which switches on and then goes to standby. I have to wait for a day or two for the tv to switch on again, all the time it is stuck on standby. I have checked the voltages on the power supply board on both occasions when it is on and off and these are my findings:

When the Main board is disconnected, the back lights are off but tapping on the chassis makes them light up and all voltages are then good. Connecting the main board up makes the TV work normally until moved. LED INERFACE STRIP BN41-01971A has a short on the first 2 pins on the left of the picture, the cable tests good. All the other pins and all LED strips test good. Is there an easy way to fix the short or do I need a new interface. Any help would welcome.
