I took a reading on the big cap & got 230 on the ac/dc meter & 0 when switched off..the big heat shield also measured that?..is it supposed 2 measure that..thx

primary side heatsinks will normally be at line voltage so 230v will be on the heatsink, but your large filter cap should be around 320-340v if the pfc front end is working when tv is powerd on.

disconnect main board, jumper 5v to on/off pin,do other voltages come up?,the 12v to main board, and 24v to inverter?something i think on the main board is putting the psu in to protection.
fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

I jumpered the 5v from the stnby pin to on/off pin & still no other voltages..i will get some pics off main board both sides when ive some time off work..thx

Re: Neon C3298DVB stuck in standby

check the fuse ive marked in red, this problem is either a corrupt new eeprom flash that you put in,or the crystal to the cpu has failed or the cpu has failed both of these are under the large sheild ,your power supply seems fine.

              check that fuse

if fuse good, take resistance reading on the connector pins of the mainboard(the one where the power comes from the psu),just the ones that are marked with a voltage, the readings should be very high resistance,if they are low ie about 30 ish ohms, then it points to a short on that rail which will need investigating.

if all good then you will need to take off that large sheild and look up the datasheet for the cpu ic,confirm what the voltage into the cpu is and what pin it is,and then test that pin to see if the correct voltage is there,if you dont have a scope then you wont be able to test the crystal,it should show a steady sine wave on a scope.

also, now you have everything disconnected, plug connectors in one at a time, whilst jumping 5v to on,and monitor the voltages if they dissapear again then what ever you plugged in may have a short on it,im positive more or less its the main board though

Fuse tested ok..do i black probe screw chassis n red probe power i pins on mainboard on continuity setting?
Took the shield off & cant seem to find any info on the ic..thx

for dc voltage testing with power on,dc setting 20v 0n multimeter, black on chassis screw, red on individual out pins on connector.

for resistance /fuse testing power off, either on 200 ohm range or diode test function for continuity.

you will need to remove the heat sink on the cpu chip, should just twist off gently, you will need to get some thermal bonding glue to put back on ,both surfaces must be spotless and dry,use isopropynal alcohol.

the ic will have its part number under the heatsink.

on u6 the flash chip you replaced, did you not use flux(no clean)?,those pins look a bit shaky,id have a check for continuity on each pin, find a nearby solder pad that connects to each pin and check they have continuity,do for every pin.pin 7 dosent look like its on its pad properly,or its the picture, not sure.

I used non clean flux for the eeprom..i looked over chip with jewellers eye n they look fine..it looks better under scope..gonna do them other readings now..thx

I dont think this board is repairable & it dont look like theres 1 about at the moment..the screen is a samsung LTA320AP02..will this screen be compatible with most 32" lcds?

ok,cant find any info on this chip no datasheet, would have been good to find VCC to at least see if the chip is getting its voltage,if you have a scope ,we could see if the crystal is working,it should show a stable sine wave.very rare these fail though.

there are a couple of voltage regulators on this board, prefixed "bm" you could check those and see if they are working, but if they work through the main cpu they may not activate until the cpu sends the correct signal.

the voltages you had taken are correct and within spec, you can rule out the psu.

hopefullly someone might pipe in and show a link to a datasheet for the chip.but i cant find one.

if no joy i would keep an eye out for a mainboard on ebay or elsewhere you may get lucky

by the way did you follow the steps in post#46 about resistance testing on the disconnected main board?if you havent...

set your meter to 20k,black probe to chassis screw, red probe to each individual line voltage pin (no need to do the ground pins),coming into the main board from the psu,the readings should be very high resistance anything around 30ohms indicates a short on that rail.

the main board has a short somewhere that is shutting the psu down, confirmed by jumping the pins as you did with nothing connected,if you find the rail thats shorted, you can trace along and check components along the trace thats affected,(leakseeker would be good for this)

Took readings of the vdo,s in pic 3 post45 the 1s closest to the power pins & only got the correct voltages with the jumper in..so can i rule them 4 vdos out?
All the vdos give correct voltages with only the jumper pin inplace

So could the fault perhaps be something with the 2 5vins with only having 0.28..so something on them rails?https://www.badcaps.net/forum/attach...6&d=1345298168

The TV is faulty with stuck in Standby RED LED. Can't power the TV.

Before this problem , the TV stuck the picture with artefact , i unplug the AC cable and since the tv is stuck in standby .

All voltage are OK on PSU and main board for regulator. I tried flash firmware 25Q64 with many dumps

But the voltage on power button is 0.6V not 3.3V. When i press power button the voltage up to 0V. I tried to add 5V with Power Supply on 5V_STB and 3.3V on Power...

Hi. I have the following problem with my TV. After connecting to mains, the standby led (red) turns on, but TV is not responding to remote control or buttons on TV. After some measurements, I found out that +5 V standby voltage is present, but I dont have ON/OFF signal coming in to turn PSU on. It stays at zero volts. After looking at the schematic of the mainboard, I should get ON/OFF signal coming in at the R1402 resistor, but it stays around +3,5 V. So I removed it and I was able to turn on TV with buttons on TV, but not with remote control.

What could be the problem ? Thanks...

Hi techs, I have a Samsung ua39eh5003r which switches on and then goes to standby. I have to wait for a day or two for the tv to switch on again, all the time it is stuck on standby. I have checked the voltages on the power supply board on both occasions when it is on and off and these are my findings:

                                            Connector CNM803:
                                            TV ON

                                            TV OFF
                                            Pin1,3,4,5(Vamp),7(Vamp)- 12.6V; Pin2(PWM_DIM)- 0.06v; Pin6(BLU_ON/OFF)-...

When the Main board is disconnected, the back lights are off but tapping on the chassis makes them light up and all voltages are then good. Connecting the main board up makes the TV work normally until moved. LED INERFACE STRIP BN41-01971A has a short on the first 2 pins on the left of the picture, the cable tests good. All the other pins and all LED strips test good. Is there an easy way to fix the short or do I need a new interface. Any help would welcome.
