Ive come across this site in the.. http://www.ohmsupplies.co.uk & was wondering if any of you guys have ordered from them before?..They have the chip in stock & pre-programmed with delivery at 16quid.

If alls good with this site how easy is it 2 remove the chip..can it be done with a soldering iron & desoldering braid..thx..also is there owt else i need 2 know or is it just replace the chip..thx

Rip off personally I'd just sell the TV on to someone else who has a programmer.

It's easy to remove with experience, but I wouldn't recommend trying the first time on a board that's hard to get hold of.

yes,i had and still have the same problem,i did take off the chip easy enough and re solderd back on,the trick is to use plenty of flux and a decent hot iron, though after i removed it,i realised the chip can be re-programmed on board with a special clip.

i have the ezp2010v.2.1 programmer and i had the firmware to put on it,but as tom said if it was eeprom then it be easy to do,but these chips are spi flash, and more than likely need a more expensive programmer,i tried but it didnt work.but that was on the original chip not a new chip.it may work with new chip.

my board if i remember is a cv1o6ls1 v2.1 and it is always the flash chip that goes.

id be inclined to get the pre-programmed chip and take a chance seeing as its a 32",mine is still stuck on my bench ,il get the chip as and when i come across one,im in no rush.
fixed so far...376 lg lcd tv's,24 onn tv;s,24 panasonic lcd,16 jvc lcd,12 marshall jcm800 amps, refurb of various disco equipment lighting, old style disco decks ,and a flymo!

Hi guys..fitted the new eeprom & no joy still red stanby light..retested voltages on psu HDZ2054-3A & now all not present except 1 pin of 5v..the caps on psu are F-con & Teapo..ive no card reader at mo 2 take pictures so ive used a stock photo if any1 can point me in the right direction..thx
Is the 47uf 50v normally the start up cap?..theres 3 of those but i dont know which 1 is the start up cap.

Check EEPROM is fitted right way around.

now you have the eeprom fitted press Source> 2580 then scroll to 'RESET ALL,that should do it,if it dosent then there is another problem

this is strange, are you saying you had all the psu voltages before you changed the chip, but now you only have a 5v ?

have a quick check on the psu ,make sure the fuses are all in tact still, there should be also one smd fuse on the main board it should be white in color, check that also,.

and also try shorting pins 5&6 on the eeprom again, completely unplug tv,short pins(keep shorted),plug tv in,switch on from tv side button power switch, then try and bring out of standby from the remote

there is a good chance then, that the old eeprom may have corrupted the main cpu,do you have a scope?,be good to see if the crystal is working and sending a signal to the cpu,the cpu has to send an"on"signal back to the psu.

the cpu and crystal is under the large metal screening cage,,and the cpu will have its heatsink bonded to the cpu.

also check ,you said you had a live 5v rail, this is proberly the standby voltage,is it marked STB ?,and there should be a pin next to it mark STB_ON or something like that, you can jump those 2 pins and see if the other voltages come up

Ive no scope fella..the 5v is coming from standby pin & theres an on/off pin next to it..how do i jump them 2 pins?..is it just make a u shape with wire n place it in the connecter block & switch it on then read voltages..thx
Sorry for having no photos & the knowledge for testing & troubleshooting..im gonna get another card reader installed in my pc for my camera..thx

yes just jump the 5v to the on/off signal ideally with a 3ohm resistor,(but wire should give an indication), which should be to power the psu on,but it may also be the backlight on signal, you may see the backlights come on when the pins are jumperd, need to see the pins really just to check
