Akai PDP42Z5TA 42" Plasma TV, input text keep flash

Akai PDP42Z5TA 42" Plasma TV, the input text screen keep flash (about 3-5 times a second), but the picture and sound is good.
When I press menu or volumn button, it popup, but is interrupted by the input screen and disappear when the input flash cycle com back.

I tried to plug out the manaul control board and used remote control to power up, the same problem.

Any one has idea on how to fix it ?

    Thanks

Check the buttons on the side or bottom panel on the TV aren't stuck, use some contact cleaner and spray it in there to clean them.

He said he tried unplugging the button board and it had no effect, so it must be something else. Could be a weird motherboard glitch, maybe bad caps?

I assume there is an input switch on the button board. I would try and trace that to the pin it connects to, then with the board removed (since you say it's still doing it), see if the voltage on that pin fluctuates according to the text flashes. If so, it's a potential simple fix, if not, you'll have to dig deeper.

I unplug the buttons board (on the riht side of the front panel), and only use the remote control to power up, the same problem.

Doesnt seem like much is really wrong with the set just seems like it might need an firmware upgrade. You would need to find out if this could be one the (list of problems) to a fix on an upgrade.

I think this model was built by LG,but to find the correct firmware version might be a challenge and may come closer just changing main board

Main Board is expensive, it's not worth replacing it.
If can't figure out what's the root cause, I'll send it to recycle yard.

I know this is probably really late. The set in question is likely recycled by now. I had the same set with the same issue. In my case, it turned out to be a cracked plug on the LVDS cable at the main board. Three of the wires were making contact with each other. This set has LG internals. The cable from an LG with the same PDP42X3 panel fixed the problem. Weird, I know.
