SMPS IC for the 12/24V PS.
Need good closed up of that section so I can see how the legs of the IC are connected, I have a similar PS for the 32" version that looks real close to your board.

awww, the number is hard to read on picture....here top IC one is reading 5.6 and bottom IC read 57.1

OK, lets try this instead, I labeled the pin as 1, 2, and 3.
Please take the reading (Ohm mode, tell what scale it shows up as, I.E. xxxK Ohms, M Ohms)
1 & 2 =
1 & 3 =
2 & 3 =
Do that on both of them.
We still need to find out the P/N of that SMPS IC that blew up.

I have to say I am getting very confused on this thread and im not sure its just me.

@Supremacy 13 when you refer to an item can you please put the board Identification number with it. eg Q601 Q603 IC xx etc


4 small of IC show 00.3 to 00.4. and one big IC show 9.96 and other big IC IS 10.10 ?????????????????

You also need to try and answer questions when asked
eg "Is that board the same as yours? " post 15

Power supply part number is DPS-283AP A

IC # Q602
1 and 2= 5.5
1 and 3= 5.6
2 and 3= 00.3

IC #Q601
1 and 2= 57.3
1 and 3= 57.3
2 and 3= 00.4

4 of IC are D240A,D240B, D120, and D51 all are 00.3 and 00.4

2 big IC are Q801 is 9.6 and other is BD1 is 10.10

Well that answers that then - its a different board so may well not be that chip part number.

Please can you get an in focus picture of your board back, if neccessary do
it in two halves. Good light is the key to better pics.

On the burnt chip can you read ANY of the numbers/letters try cleaning with isopropyl alcohol. Did you use a magnifying glass.

Sorry I missed the pic I can see the numbers clearly.
Well just spent an hour looking for this chip on alldatasheet.com working from end 01D substituting numbers then went back to the thread and looked again at the pics. I now think it would be too much of a coincidence that it is not the one in toms pic.DLA001D so I have attached the datasheet for the L6598. These are available on ebay or digikey

i have already ordered 5 pcs of L6598 from ebay. I will let yall know after replace and see if TV power back on. Also I need to know where can I get very thinner iron for soldering? because L6598 is a very small, must be a hard job to do it but I have everything tools to ready replace it but do not know where to get thinner iron on soldering.

The two MOSFET's (Q601, 602) also has shorted out Source (2) and Drain (3). Take them out and verify again just to be sure.
So you were able to read the P/N on that blown up SMPS IC for the 12/24V power supply which its output are from driving those two shorted out MOSFETs?
I hope there are no other damaged components around that IC.

Hello to all BadCaps buddies,

Sorry for so long to reply back. Im tell you this replace L6598 on power supply is one of the most tough job. Very super small. I did my work and failed. Too small. I decided to ordered new power supply for $40 off ebay and I installed it on this my TV and work perfect.

Im tell you its not worth work on by replace L6598. Unless if you guys have much skills than I do its your worth of time do it but not worth time for me doing it.

$40 is very reasonable price for working power supply, good job for getting the TV working again.

I have replaced a SO8 before, but it isn't easy! Great to hear you fixed the TV and for a not too unreasonable price.

All -- my problem sounds just like Bryan's (top post.) No power on and no orange Vizio logo. I removed the back of the TV -- I have pictures of my power supply and a picture of the back of the TV but don't know where to post them.

Any recommendations on whether I should simply try buying a new power supply? If so, I'm looking for recommendations on where to purchase.

I can upload pics if need be.
