go with thermal putty and something likeptm7950 for gpu and cpu.
too many variables like pad hardness. Myself i regret not going with thermal putty.

5G1VJ dell alienware
found stock heatsink, but i never dealt with thermal pads so its hard to determine thickness of thermal pads in the photo, only original pad left is that green square which is 2mm. And i have no reference for 0.5mm thermal pads to compare.

core temperature is about 71C during games. Trying to figure out if my VRAM temperatures are good. I use HWINFO to monitor GPU. 104C is VRAM...

concerning gtx675m vram temp
Is 98C vram temp are safe? Less demanding games goes 80ish.
Funny thing, there were old non stock thermal pads very botched, so i replaced them. After, temperatures remained the same, but performance (fps) improved significantly. With both thermal pad application GPU core temp was similar.
furmark goes about 104C, amperage keeps rising so do temps.

recently this laptop had a strange behavior. When shut off charger would go off - no light, and mac won't react to power button. But trackpad is still clickable. So i hold power button to reset, trackpad no longer clicks, still couldn't boot afterwards. Sometimes it worked correctly, power on when charger is connected, etc.
Laptop had a soft drink spill, luckily keyboard is still working, power button and touch id too. Only angle sensors is reporting screen always closed so i removed it. On the board i found only 1 spot with liquid damage. Laptop worked for a month or so then started...Last edited by mosfetratus; 06-18-2024, 09:44 AM.

found two DC - DC converters - https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps62130.pdf
one spits out 1V to 5V garbage, other is no output, maybe system needs to be fully on.
Cannot trace out connection to where it goes when disconnected from power supply, i get megaohms.https://found two DC - DC converters... get megaohms.found...

it looks like sw pins are getting random voltage if the design is the same, so likely mosfet is not the problem. I found other places with random voltage....

Apple silicon only resets by pressing power button for about 10 seconds. Such a noob. But still i get this problem and discovered an anomaly on the board. So i guess this component was semi alive and i got some lucky resets.
Voltage goes from from 1.2 to 5V in random values.
Photo shows highlighted components. Need second opinion, i'm a hobbyist.
Can't find any info about this component

macbook A2918, orange light off when shut off
When i fully shut off mac, orange light goes off and wont react to power button. I have difficult time resetting with combination "shift+control+option and power button", because it rarely works (reason unknown), when i manage to get orange light and then press power button macbook wont turn on and orange light goes off. When i hold combination with power button it turns on, and works fine if put it to sleep mode.
Works with battery and charges, but when i shut off i get this problem.
It had liquid spill. Board has no corrosion, keyboard is working, power button...Last edited by mosfetratus; 05-31-2024, 03:49 AM.

It needs to be fully assembled so the pins on the board are grounded. Otherwise board will act as dead.

"Fixed". The board was OK. At first i was thinking that the board was faulty, because i was told so.
Faulty angle sensor immediately shuts off mac after brief apple logo and slight bar load. Removed angle sensor and it boots fine.
For the MB to power, you need to ground pins on the board and then plug power adapter. For battery to output power it needs to communicate with MB otherwise it will not output any voltage.
I need to fix angle sensor or maybe i can can use older gen senors, because they look the same apart cable form factor....

Power brick has no power output, with disconnected magsafe from the board. Maybe we need to figure out my power brick question.
This circuit goes to USB C ports, above two USB C is a smaller connector that connects to a magasfe and goes to the other side of the board....

macbook pro m3 a2918 - dead

Because i removed battery terminal and measured voltage which was 0 volts. It was liquid damaged, but the board looks OK apart one spot.
At first it was sent to repair, apparently they only took money. Too bad they did...Last edited by mosfetratus; 03-08-2024, 02:14 PM.

Re: xbox 360 150w, no 12V
Noticed gate voltage for output mosfets (FDPF3860T) is low, o.4V. Needed to remove glue, to see components.
Yellow circle component is semi short between yellow points, voltage drop of 033 in diode mode. So i removed it, still same result between points.

Power supply does have 12V output when i short 5volts on power supply plug to simulate power button press, but soon gets RED light on the supply when holding short.Re: xbox 360 150w, no 12V<br /> <br...d gate voltage
