Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Ok, I couldn't get anything when it was cutting on and off by the button.
So to jumper it would pins 1 and 2 need to be connected? Just want to make sure.
And thanks ecking767 for the schematic, a pdf would be great.

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
OK the PFC circuit is working (the voltage on the main cap jumps to 386V) and so as the PS_ON signal. So next thing you need to find out if the 24Vdc output is working.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Hey drpj23, I have done work before on FLM-2601 power supply and I found the schematic for the power supply. I know this will help you. If you need this file in PDF format let me knowWell the power supply stopped blowing the fuse
...but the TV now wont come on but at least there is a red stand by light.
Well I am about to open it up so I'll be back and if anyone knows specific things to look for that would be great.
Oh and thanks for all the info and help...this will def help with the Philips power supply I have....which also keeps blowing the fuse

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Alright, The tv will turn "on" for about a few seconds but the standby light just turns off when this happens instead of changing colors. There are 4 red wires, 4 black (ground), and a purple and brown (standby).
Standby:
There is only a quarter of a volt on the red and 161.6v on the cap
On:
The voltage on the red wires do not change but there is 5v on the purple wire.
The cap had 386vLeave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
I would check the PSU output voltages. If they are low, the problem is probably with the PFC voltage being too low.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
OK, at least now the 5v standby power supply is getting the power.
Next we need to find out if the PFC circuits is working or not, check the DC voltage on that big DC filter cap in the primary circuits when the TV is OFF and when you turn on the power switch.
It should be about 170vdc when TV is off and about 400vdc when TV is on.Last edited by budm; 06-21-2012, 03:58 PM.Leave a comment:

Dont go with lower D-S voltage, or else they might fail in the near future.Leave a comment:

the 80c3 will be fine ,as long as the lead spacings are the sameLeave a comment:

Well my eyes tricked me and they are 11N80C3 but I was wondering if that would work maybe? or at least temporarily to see if that was a problem.
11N60C3 is VDS 650V RDS .38 ohms ID 11A
11N80C3 is VDS 800v RDS .45 ohms ID 11ALeave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Alright cool. I'll prob stay with Digikey.
Thanks for the help.
I'll order those and tell you the results.....actually I just found a board in my "trash" pile that has those (proview p/s). I'll test those out and try em.Leave a comment:

You can get it from Mouser:

Or Digikey.Leave a comment:

Oh ok, I had mentioned the p/n of the mosfet in an earlier post so that's why I put that.....I was confused lol.

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
The part that failed is the MOSFET, the cap is OK. I think Tom is asking for the P/N of that MOSFET.Leave a comment:

It is a Rubycon 450v 150uF KXW. There is also T0516.
It is C922 on the board.Leave a comment:

So that's probably the only failed component. What is the part # on it?Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
It starts at about 3 mega-ohms and drains. Nothing will show up on that range (well OL) but ya.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
When the MOSFET is pulled, do you measure anything on 200 ohm range on meter across the main filter cap?Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
I guess it would be wise to start checking diodes then?Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
We are looking for shorted out component that has real low resistance to cause the main fuse to blow. If he other show open circuit, then it should be OK. MOSFET should read open circuit on all combination reads of all 3 legs, unless if it has Source/Drain protection Diode, or Gate/Source protection Diode.Leave a comment:

by DannyxGood day folks......wow this new layout is weird. It's like I woke up one day and I'm no longer on Planet Earth or something

Anyway....got this here power brick from a USB to SATA adapter which keeps blowing the fuse after I almost repaired it. The reason I even bother to fix a power brick (wall wart, whatever) in the first place is because this thing was really convenient to use: I'd just plug it and that's it. It's a dual output supply, for both 12v and 5v, which although I COULD easily obtain with a DC-DC converter from a standard 12v adapter, I thought I should crack open the... -
by TipsLooking for some assistance please.
Trying to repair a PD27AOQ samsung power board.
Initially had the typical problem of cm806 capacitor blown, additionally thermistor NT801s blown.
Replaced the ceramic capacitor, str60252s, bridge rectifier, thermistor and fuse.
Testing it the fuse blows immediately power is turned on.
diodes dm852 and dm853 test as shorted when in the board but fine when removed.
any assistance, guidance would be appreciated. -
by RogerH58Hi all,
I am a newbie and not very experienced so bear with me if i struggle sometimes with technical language - but I'll do my best. I searched "Samsung" and the model number on the forum but didn't find anything I could understand!
I'm not an electronics guy - just picked up stuff over the years through my flight-simming hobby.
I have the above mentioned 46" tv as the monitor for my flight-sim setup. Recently it went "crack" and stopped working. No standdby light and no response. I assumed a fuse had blown and after investigation... -
by corrizeHello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping... -
by Bootleg1Hi all, so i was watching tv acreen went black and no sound. Traced problem to blown tcon fuse. Replaced and it blows replaced again samething. So my tcon fuse keeps blowing. I bought a new board havent installed yet infear its just going to keep blowing the fuse. If i only connect the right side ribbon cable the fuse doesnt blow but as soon as i connect the left cable my tcon fuse instantly blows and no picture. The right side picture works clear as day and left side picture is grey (picture attatched) im hoping its a bad tcon board itself or a cable or anything and not the panel. Thank you for...
