Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
I'm working on one of these power supplies. I'm searching for parts and the MC33260D is listed as obsolete at mouser. I can't find the chip anywhere. Is there a place to get parts that are out of production? I've used the cross ref at mouser and onsemi.com. But they only cross to other obsolete chips.

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
On the diode setting, the sec rectifiers come up .31 in one direction for each diode.
And I have not checked the snubber yet partly because I have no idea where that would be. But I have checked all the diodes on the board and all on the meter seem to be OK.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Were the 11N80s short circuited?Without a load, it tests steady on the cap and output and there is slight hum from the transformer.
Well for kicks (I had replaced the 11N80s with new 11N60s) I put back the 80s and put it back in the TV and well the fuse blew.
So took those back out (tested fine) and put the 60s back in. Put back in the TV and we have same symptoms as before post fuse.
The diode is still ok and resistance is still there, plugged back up without a load and it tests OK; steady 23.55V and 380 on cap.
Resistor I replaced is actually OK, was just coming up weird due to bad connection.
This is where I am at.
Have you checked the secondary rectifiers?
I see that you took the heatsinks off the PSU. When you test it, be sure to put them back on (if you haven't), and be SURE the correct MOSFETs and diodes are insulated from the heatsinks!
Have you checked the snubber diode yet?

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Yes it is also fluctuating between 380 and 400.
The main cap had .3ohm. But to rule that out, I put another chemicon cap in with no change.
I have replaced all the caps (except one I missed (47uf 25v) since it was in heat shrink.) but I put one with .1ohm to replace it (I had sitting around). There was also a resistor beside the main cap that read half of what it should have been and replaced that as well but there is still no change.
I should also mention that the p/s is squealing too.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Great, I was so worry that the new IC will not fix the problem.
Is the DC voltage on the large DC filter cap (250~450vdc) also fluctuating?
I worked on Insignia last month after replacing the secondary power supply caps, turn it on and the backligts were flickering, I jump the main DC filter cap with another cap, the flickering stops. The ESR of the bad cap was 3 Ohms, but enough to cuase problem.

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Ok so parts came in....as I began to de-solder....I noticed I never soldered back down pin 5 ......so I feel very special right now.
Anyways, life is back in the TV except for one problem, the backlights are flickering on and off. The 24v rail is there but is jumping around 21-23vLeave a comment:

You will need to get that SMPS IC NCP1207 as I post the spec sheet on post 46.Leave a comment:

Well, I think the SMPS IC will be the next thing to try.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
So what resistance reading do you get between Source and Gate now, it was really low last time with the shorted Diode, it should be around 4.7K.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Well replaced the diode, and same results as before.
Do have standby light and 5v STBY but no main output (.25v).
Tries to cut on but reverts back to standbyLeave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
If you are talking about the component beside 905 that looks like a MOV or round ceramic cap
This may be what your looking for

Not same company as mine but it may work
Digikey has those MF72's for under a half dollar if that matches.Leave a comment:

Does anyone know the value and where to get 926 on the FLM-2601 power supply.

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Hello, sorry for not posting in a while. I havn't put in the new diode yet but I am just posting to let you know I have not forgotten, since I know this is valuable to other people; I just had some inconveniencing events which cause me to move. So access to my tools have been slim to none till now so I should be getting back to it soon.
ThanksLeave a comment:

That is true, very much so since the one I had was for a different power supply so that was a humongous help.Leave a comment:

Re: Polaroid FLM-2601 - Power Supply keeps blowing fuse
Yes it is surface mounted. I might as well start practicing soldering with smd components lol.
And thanks so much I am learning a lot through this, oddly enough I just got several samsung and panasonic plasma power supplies all with different issues so hopefully some of this can be helpful towards those or at least the approach and narrowing it down. But they dont have blowing fuse issues lol.....so they might pop up on the site hahaLeave a comment:

by DannyxGood day folks......wow this new layout is weird. It's like I woke up one day and I'm no longer on Planet Earth or something

Anyway....got this here power brick from a USB to SATA adapter which keeps blowing the fuse after I almost repaired it. The reason I even bother to fix a power brick (wall wart, whatever) in the first place is because this thing was really convenient to use: I'd just plug it and that's it. It's a dual output supply, for both 12v and 5v, which although I COULD easily obtain with a DC-DC converter from a standard 12v adapter, I thought I should crack open the... -
by TipsLooking for some assistance please.
Trying to repair a PD27AOQ samsung power board.
Initially had the typical problem of cm806 capacitor blown, additionally thermistor NT801s blown.
Replaced the ceramic capacitor, str60252s, bridge rectifier, thermistor and fuse.
Testing it the fuse blows immediately power is turned on.
diodes dm852 and dm853 test as shorted when in the board but fine when removed.
any assistance, guidance would be appreciated. -
by RogerH58Hi all,
I am a newbie and not very experienced so bear with me if i struggle sometimes with technical language - but I'll do my best. I searched "Samsung" and the model number on the forum but didn't find anything I could understand!
I'm not an electronics guy - just picked up stuff over the years through my flight-simming hobby.
I have the above mentioned 46" tv as the monitor for my flight-sim setup. Recently it went "crack" and stopped working. No standdby light and no response. I assumed a fuse had blown and after investigation... -
by corrizeHello, I disassembled this dead camera, and found this WTF… Two fuses soldered one above the other !
I was pretty sure nobody touched it before, but that can't be from factory. There is flux, and capacitor is probably missing.
The other weird thing : the fuses are « G » fuse : (0.75A – 8V), seems very low. The original fuse should be « O » : (32V 2,5A).
There is « O » mark beside. All fuses have the same mark letter on main board. So, I can deduce it's a « O » fuse.
And this correspond to the issus I saw : when I plug the battery, I measure the voltage dropping... -
by Bootleg1Hi all, so i was watching tv acreen went black and no sound. Traced problem to blown tcon fuse. Replaced and it blows replaced again samething. So my tcon fuse keeps blowing. I bought a new board havent installed yet infear its just going to keep blowing the fuse. If i only connect the right side ribbon cable the fuse doesnt blow but as soon as i connect the left cable my tcon fuse instantly blows and no picture. The right side picture works clear as day and left side picture is grey (picture attatched) im hoping its a bad tcon board itself or a cable or anything and not the panel. Thank you for...
