Olevia 542-b11 PSU 'heatsink bridge' question

I'm recapping the power supply of an Olevia LCD, model 542-b11.

Even though only two seem bad, I'll be replacing all six capXon that are under that heatsink bridge, with the holes in it.

Problem is the Panny FM caps that I'm using are about 40% taller then the capXons were, and so here's my question:

Can I get away with leaving that holed-heatsink-bridge piece off?

It merely connects two heatsinks with two mosfets on each, I doubt they'll overheat... but I want a second opinion.

The FM series will not fit? You may be able to leave the cover off since it does not make that good of the contact with the two heatsink, just make sure it does not use it for grounding the two heatsinks together. Is this FSP made power supply, it looks familiar to me.

Yep. The power supply is FSP271-4f02

And the new caps are Panasonic 35v 1200uf, it's says CE FM.
Digikey P/N: P12406-ND

Wait, I see my mistake, I wrote FR in the opening post, sorry, it's FM, definitely FM. And they're too tall.

I thought you are using FR series which is too high, so I suggested to use FM instead and see if they will have one with lower height.

Remember, these quit due to crappy caps not overheating.

I have done the same thing you have and left the cover off and never had an issue.

I would just hit it with your temp gun if you have one. You will know what heats up the most.
