    Re: Sanyo DP42746

X-Tronic 4040 delivered today. Well test and practice with it on scrape board.

After I get use it, I'll begin rebuilding the upper and lower Y-buffers.
Replacement IC's have been ordered and should arrive in 2-4 weeks.

    FYI
I hate spending $$$ on expensive replacement boards, but have no problem spending $$$ on tools that will pay for themselves in due time.

      Re: Sanyo DP42746

I remove the bad upper Y-buffer IC and reassembled set.

Power it up and this is what I got.

Set is in HDMI mode, volume has red right arrow. The control buttons ( CH UP/DN, Power, & Vol UP?DN) won't change input. In fact all of them turn the set on and off.

While waiting for IC's from China , I'll order remote.

        Re: Sanyo DP42746

        Remote came in mail today.

Set wouldn't turn on by remote. Push set power button and remote still wouldn't do anything.

Press set power button, and hold and hold it, all the buttons on the remote would turn set on and off.

Press set power button and disconnect cable from K8F (set control keyboard). Remote has some control now. I was able to switch it off from HDMI, and I can receive a tv signal, but it scolls through inputs.

Pulled 1AA4B10N1650A board and found this. Actually found it before and didn't know it was a problem untill I got it off of HDMI.

Well order replacement 1AA4B10N1650A board in a couple of weeks and see if that corrects its. Unless someone disagrees and points me in another direction.

Got my Y-buffer IC's in the mail today.

          The "GOOD"
Price was reasonable (12pcs SN755870 for $48 + free S&H), arrived in thirteen days.

          The "BAD"
As you can see in the photo, 12 SN755870 IC's taped to a piece of cardboard, bubble wrapped and placed in a padded envelope.

7 out of 12 are J041B2A G4 and the other 5 are 94AE7DT G4, more worried they weren't packaged in ESD packaging.

Replacing 1AA4B10N1650A didn't sovle my problem, still scrolling through inputs.

I plan to replace LJ92-01270 and if this doesn't correct it, then I'm calling it quits.

I replace the Digital Tuner 1AA4B10N18300. While It didn't correct the problem the set has it, did do something that it hasn't done before.

For the first time it displayed what I believe is the "On-screen Service Menu System".
It was still scrolling but through the options or data.

I've ordered the Logic board and it should be here by Friday or Saturday.

I also found out what LED's on the Logic board indicate depending on the status. Like if they are on, off, or blinking.

The problem with this set has to be either PSU or the MAIN.
I'm going to wash & clean all the boards. Maybe there is some surface contaminants causing a short.
If that doesn't work, I'll start checking caps.

And? Did you repair your plasma? I belive you checked if one of the buttons on the front panel is not stuck and because of that set is scrolling inputs... it's not stupid to ask ;-)

My guess would have been a stuck button, not a main board issue.

Hello, I have the same TV. The Y-sus main board is tesing ok but the buffers are burnt. did you have any luck rebuilding the buffers? How did you remove the heat sinks? On mine they are hot glued onto the ICs.

I have a Sanyo DP42746, I plug in the HDMI cable to the TV. Signal runs through. However when I unplug the HDMI and plug in cable there is no signal coming through the cable side. I need help. I don't want to end up paying 600-700 dollars worth of repairs since I am just a career and technical center student. After working on TV's for electronic repair I am stumped to a degree.

                                    As I said,
                                    HDMI > Signal
                                    Cable > N/A
                                    All other Jacks > Signal

If you can help, I would be grateful.

You might have to use the setup menu to put the TV in cable mode from antenna mode.

Mystery 80s Sanyo cap - perhaps polymer?

Hey all I've been working on a 1984 Sanyo 27" color TV which had a smattering of bad caps in the video switching circuit. I found this oddball little 1uF 25V cap which looks to me like an early polymer, but I can't find concrete info proving it. I know Sanyo was a big player in early polymer cap development and this is the time period where they were just getting on the market, so I'm wondering if anyone has crusty old datasheets that could help identify it and determine if my suspicions are right? It has the same epoxy end seal and font/formatting as some old stock Os-Cons I've got laying...

                                        Sanyo DP5834 - Gray Screen
                                        by toddw65
                                        Hey All,

I have a Sanyo DP5834 that did have an issue with the backlights, but I disassembled the unit and repaired the LED strips by resoldering all of the connectors. Now I've reassembled it and I have backlights and sound, but a grayish screen. I can tap on the screen and see that it's on, but no picture. All voltages seem to be correct on the power board.

Based on the LCD Flat panel TV troubleshooting guide by Bud Martin, I'm thinking the T-Con has failed because I'm getting 12v both into and out of FP1 on the T-Con. Am I on the right track?

                                        Thanks,...

                                        Hi again guys.
Today I have a problem with this Sanyo VCR.
I bought it online, It worked sometimes.
I recap the Power supply and it started working fine.
Image is perfect and all digital effects too.
All of a sudden it stopped outputting sound. I checked for dried solders an all boards and soldered when needed, no fix.
I have no sound on playback, on tuner, or aux in.
On symptom I noticed is when it was working fine, the HI-FI led was on when I power up the VCR, now is OFF, A-B leds are on but when I put a tape they go off.

                                        Hi to all:

                                        I have a Macbook pro model A1502
                                        Board 820-3476-a

                                        Liquid damage, cleaned with isopropyl.

Don´t boot in SMC Bypass, it tries to turn on without luck (check voltages, for example 5v usb intermittent).

I have two chargers, one is an original apple magsafe 85w 16.5-18.5v 4.6a max. And 60w generic clone.

Sometimes Stays with orange light, fan OFF. No heat.

                                        Measures:

                                        CLONE:

What type of caps can I use to replace these Rubycon (K) caps? Can I use a film cap? I cant find any aluminum electrolytic caps that go that low. They are .033 uf and .047 uf
