  • Sanyo VHR-D4710G VCR no sound.

    Hi again guys.
Today I have a problem with this Sanyo VCR.
I bought it online, It worked sometimes.
I recap the Power supply and it started working fine.
Image is perfect and all digital effects too.
All of a sudden it stopped outputting sound. I checked for dried solders an all boards and soldered when needed, no fix.
I have no sound on playback, on tuner, or aux in.
On symptom I noticed is when it was working fine, the HI-FI led was on when I power up the VCR, now is OFF, A-B leds are on but when I put a tape they go off.
On one of the sound processing...

  • Thank You for your answer.
I managed to find the problem.
It was the tape left tape guide, the screw is very loose and it turned with the tape, managed to tune it and fixed it with thread-lock fluid!
It was more simple than I thougt!

    Thank You!

    Thank You again R_J.
I have a JVC where that happened, the lower parts of the guide simply came off, in this case, I checked right now and the guides are all tight.
I have linear audio, but the image looks a bit out of sync with the sound.

    Thank You....

    Thank You for your answer.
I looked at the timing marks before I look for bad belt, I have the service manual and all were in sync. The tape loads tight to the head drum...
    I thougt that too before...

    Thank You....

  • Mitsubishi HS-E82 VCR Bad Picture

    Good morning everyone.
    This time I have a Mitsubishi HS-E82.
It was a bargain that I found with original remote included.
The problem reported by the owner is that it was working but no output video.
I took it appart and immediately saw that three 470uf capacitors were leaking on the signal board and one in the Hi-Fi board the same value too. I have located them in the pictures in red marker.
I replaced them, cleaned all the liquid remains and the video output got working again.
I saw too that were three surface mounted capacitors, two near the 470uf and...

Once again nomoresonys, thank You, I only could upload the videos in this second! I cleaned, regreased, reoiled all of the mechanism parts, pinch roller is as good as new, capstain, moves freely, I disassembled it completelly, clutch, removed, disassembled too, and greased with lithium grease on the parts that can be greased, the felt was impecable! The tape guides were both off, if you know what I mean, they are secured by two plastic pieces and two brass parts, they easy fall appart, glued them too...
    You´re right nomoresonys!

  • Re: Jvc hr-d470eg

Now I have another project lol!!
I bought an Thomson SV1300N S-VHS recorder wich is a rebrand of a JVC HR-S4700.
It didn´t worked at all, I managed to get the service manual, I disassembled it, all boards, took note on all capacitor values, from PSU through backup capacitor, and replaced all of the electrolytic too like the past project, I don´t know if someone knows it in here I doubt, because it was a problem on some JVC models, the vertical board on the sound pcb has 4 smd capacitors that leak, I replaced them too.
    After all the desolder...

    Hi nomoresonys.
It´s been a while that I don´t post any update on this topic, but it was because I screw the FFC cables wich connect the display board to the chassis, and luckely found ones that were the same pitch and pins on aliexpress, so now I can say that I have my VCR all 100% fixed.
I bought the sensor on serigo store, but they never shipped or even sent me instructions how to pay for it, they say in the site, that after the buy they mail us the payment instructions, but never received any mail from them, even after...

    Hi R_J.
Yes, because I saw the detector has 3 leads, I thought it could work.
I´ll wait from donberg answer and if they don´t send me I´ll buy this and try to replace the detector...

    Best regards,

    I didn´t find any with 0N1317 but with PU60271 I found.
But still haven´t found any store who ships to Portugal.
    donberg ships, but only 50€+...
If someone can buy it from another site and ship for me I´ll pay for the sensor ans shippment costs...

The other site I found is in Australia!

  • Re: Jvc hr-d470eg

    You´re right.
But my first problem was that when I swapped CN6 to CN5, Fuse2 burned out, and later on I figured that R1 (10ohm) fuse resistor burned too, Before I started to replace all the electrolytic caps, the reel sensor problem was there, but I tought that was only a cap problem, but It wasn´t... Unfortunately...
So I need a reel sensor like the one I put on the link...
I think it´s not easy to find in EU, but I´ll pay the shippment costs if it´s shipped from US...

    Thank You.

    Hi R_J.
I figured out the problem, as I said, the fuse resistor "R1", burned out as When "Fuse 2" burned too.
After replaced the resistor, the VCR came to life again...
The problem now is the reel sensor...
Thank You, I really appreciate your answer!

    I nomoresonys.
You´re right, I´ve seen the video before got courage to disassembly my vcr and replace all electrolytic caps, hoping my problem was only bad readings from eeprom and the sensor was good, but after replacing all the caps, as I said, I mixed up the plugs on the boards.
After measuring on cold, all the PSU components, I figured out that when I mixed up "CN6" to "CN5" the "R1" 10ohm fuse resistor burned out with "Fuse2" Thank God it did, I replaced it with a 2W 10ohm just to test...
