Yes, if we do get 12V, then you can go ahead and contact either MOUSER or Digikey to get the cap and the Zener diode.

ok i cut the 2 12v lcd wires and connected the wire for the middle of bulb to 1 of the 2 cut wires and left the other one loose and put the ground of the bulb to chassis ground is that correct? and the plug is plugged into the main board alsoComment

Use the Ground pin of the connector since I do not know if the Ground pin of that connector is connected to the chassis ground or not., you can verify but I would think it will be.Never stop learning

No, do not cut the ground wire, since you had verified that it is connected to the chassis, then you are ready to go, you can use the chassis and the Ground connection for the lamp.Never stop learning

That SMPS IC QE90 MP1591DS-LF-Z may be damaged when those parts shorted out.

No, that would have shut down the TV.
So check pin 2 to make sure it has 24vdc feeding it , and also 7 should be >3VDC.Never stop learning

If you have 12V regulated power supply that can supply minimum of 1.2A, then you can use it to power the 12VLCD line to see if you get the pictures OK on the screen.Never stop learning

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

Hello everyone,
I've got a Benq power board of a XL2540K monitor which suffered from a power cut and is since defective / won't turn on. It's got obvious defects, some blown resistors, some burning around the drain pin of a MOSFET...
... and some 6-pin IC I struggle identifying, that is driving said MOSFET.
The IC is labeled as IC601, so someone with a circuit schematic could probably identify it really quick, unfortunately I can't find the schematics.
In other power boards of Benq for which I did find the schematics, IC601 is an 8-pin NCP1200 PWM controller - I suppose... -
I am new to hot air soldering. I need to remove one chip from the board. I have a hot air solder and I set the temperature to 350°C. I slowly started heating the chip, but the solder didn't melt. I heated it for about 5 minutes, but the solder still wouldn't melt. I increased the temperature to 450˚C and still nothing. After a while, the board started to change color, but the solder still didn't melt.
Fortunately, I'm testing it on old network switches to see how it works.
What am I doing wrong?
