Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
ok good that has been what i was using i just had to verify... also like in the other thread am i looking for 3 pin and 8 pin or am i going to test everything?Comment

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
Try the 3-pin and 8-pin first, it should not be very far from the pad I marked.Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
on the first thing i probed the top 3 legger by c7570 i get 1.2 ohm and meter resistance is 1.0 now so that means that 3 legger is giving me .2 ohmsComment

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
Boy, I hope it is the right one, it looks way too small to handle the current.
Turn the TV on and test the DC voltage on all the pins.Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
actually bud i have multiple giving me the same reading i already found 5 of them and im sure there will be more.. are u sure the vias is the correct testing point?Comment

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
Yes, they are on that big copper trace to handle the current, that is why I am surprised when I see the picture of that small device.Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
IC901 looks promising, Can you get the P/N? Also pin is connected to those Vias?Never stop learning

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
ALSO IC921 Part# MP1591DN http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datashe.../MP1591DN.html
voltages are BS 8.9V, IN 12V, SW 5.3V, GND 0V, REF 4.9, EN 4.9, COMP 1.1, FB 1.2
PAD = GND CONNECTED TO PIN 4 ALSO WITH OHM METER AT 200 I GET 1.2 OHM ON PIN FOUR - 1.2 = O OHMComment

Re: Toshiba 37" inverter board failure
update to post 53
ic901
Z1017aI 8 pin
FB .7v AGND 0v PGND 0v VIN 12.3v
LX.5v LX 5v EN 3.1v COMP 3.1v
both of this chip pins agnd and pgnd give me 1.3 to the vias in 200 ohm setting so reading is .1 ohm
Apparently the gnds are connected to the trace by CN65 on both chipsLast edited by whatusername; 05-27-2014, 12:23 AM.Comment

by howardc64All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
- TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
- Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?by Tynan DillI was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.
Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.
I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.
The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.
With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... -
by lostoneHello, I came here after finding some similar questions asked on other monitors and hope someone here can help me get an ancient Viewsonic VP230mp (23" 4:3 LCD) back to working condition.
First a little background, I have a background in computer and electrical engineering, and I'm smart enough to know I know nothing about LCD displays and how they work. For this topic I'm as green as they come.
When the display is turned on the viewsonic logo displays in the uppper left for 2 seconds then the screen goes black, the power LED is green (on) and when a computer is connected...-

by seppdeHello everyone,
I've got a Benq power board of a XL2540K monitor which suffered from a power cut and is since defective / won't turn on. It's got obvious defects, some blown resistors, some burning around the drain pin of a MOSFET...
... and some 6-pin IC I struggle identifying, that is driving said MOSFET.
The IC is labeled as IC601, so someone with a circuit schematic could probably identify it really quick, unfortunately I can't find the schematics.
In other power boards of Benq for which I did find the schematics, IC601 is an 8-pin NCP1200 PWM controller - I suppose...2 Photos-
