These are protective diodes and they are located at the AV signal input; if something was connected during lightning, then the discharge passed through this input and could kill the processor.

Which ones are you referring too? If you are talking about the D407 and D409 that I found burned, these seem to be diodes and upon more checking are not good. One is totally open in either direction.

These diodes are close to the RCA input jacks on the board. The only port that was connected during the strike was HDMI1.

probably diodes are a previous fault..

When I tested the IC601, I get a reading with the "+" probe on the anode and "-" on the cathode. When I reverse the leads, shouldn't this now read "0" for a good diode? I get a reading >0 when I do this for both legs. Does this not mean the diode is faulty?

I tested IC601, IC602 and IC204, To me all three seem to be faulty. Am I testing these wrong?

IC601 stands for Integrated Circuit 601, why you tell about anode, cathode?

I thought you said IC601 was a double diode. I have been treating and testing it as such.

              Refer to post#16 above.

After much searching, I finally found a datasheet on this component. This component is made by "Diodes Incorporated". This is a voltage regulator. A link to the data sheet is here.

There was no need, it's a common 1117, so what you have on tab of ic601? if 3,3v it's ok, then software issue..stop..

                    Voltage on these components
                    IC204 (on the tab) 1.5vdc
                    IC601 (on the tab) 3.3vdc
                    IC602 (on the tab ) 1.8vdc

Does anyone have a dump for the IC901 chip?

Found a .bin file on ***********. They charge for a "VIP" membership in order to download the file. Anyone used this site? I am needing the " UN60EH6000FXZA bios bin".

                      Thanks

Do I need to remove the chip from the board or can it be read while installed?

It is better to carefully unsolder it, clean the contacts from flux with isopropyl alcohol and read the data on the programmer through the adapter socket.

you can try to solder tiny wires, not all pins needed, vcc, gnd, di, do, clk, wp and maybe cs... have you got an old transformer to unroll the wire?

Note: Lotas thankyou for the dump for the Sharp tv, it worked!

                              Absolutely, replace the board

That would be my guess, but I am not 100% sure about that.
