Use a WHITE eraser and clean the contacts on the ribbon cables.

Re: Samsung un70nu6900 power supply issue

I tried to White eraser no luck I replace the ribbon cables with other cables I had for Samsung TV and I get the same results, off on off on but if I replicate what I did I let the TV boot up then plugging in the top ribbon cable I get a picture with no problem. If I turn the TV off and try to just turn it back on it goes back to the off on off Any ideas what I can do to try to fix this.

Thank you Lotas and Capleaker for the help still having the problem described above. If the was panel was bad I wouldn’t think the picture would be perfect when I get to work.

It stay on with no picture when disconnecting one cable at a time if I leave top cable undone until it completely on then put it back I get the picture with no problems. Can leave on all day it doesn't turn off, when I turn it off I have to redo the cable again but will go right back to working.

Well... well... well... I guess she is trying to be a lil b*tch! You probably going to need a 100mhz oscilloscope and a DMM. You can check the LVDS pairs on the main board with the oscilloscope and flick the menu on and off and look for changes on the o-scope screen. Make sure that the main board sends all the appropriate voltages and signals. Then I would check the long skinny board on the bottom of the TV and check for voltages there. You have to figure out which of them 2 boards causing the problem. Note everything down on paper working vs non working. Go from there.
It seems like the TV recovers if you use a specific ribbon. That should tell you on which side of the panel the problem is.
I don't think that it is a panel itself. Maybe take the long skinny board with the tab bonds out in a way so you can inspect it. But be real careful not to damage or rip the tabs.
A main board is no problem to get, but the long skinny board with the tab bonds only comes with the panel

I did the tape on the ribbon cable got it to come on with the remote but the color on the left side is washed out. If I unplug the ribbon cable and plug it back in without the tape I’ll get a full colorful picture no problems as long as the TV is powered up prior to hooking up the top ribbon cable.

I had a TV with a cracked screen same model Changed all the boards and cables just to see it had the same results.

Yes, Samsung has recently had a lot of defective panels, they die very often, as well as backlight problems.

I have a vintage 2008 Samsung 50” Plasma TV, Model code PN50A550S1FXZA with a power supply part number BN44-00222A. I repaired the power supply board several years ago finding a couple of cold solder joints on the back side of the board and it's worked great up until now. Recently a fried sound occurred with the smell of burnt electronics and the TV shut down. Trying to turn it back on yielded the typical relay clicking with no TV boot up. Upon investigation, removing feeds to the other boards within the TV it was found that disconnecting the logic board from the power supply allowed the...

                                    Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

I have been working on this concept for quite some time now with limited success but recently I found a switching power supply that is setup for the voltage that this soldering station needs to operate at however it also needs part of the secondary circuit from the original switching power because you need several voltage rails

I once tried to get a ZD-915 desoldering station to work on a 18 volt battery power supply but unfortunately things did not go well but I did find a work around but I might try this idea again but going at a little differently more about this another time...
