How old is the battery? If it is at 0.8v it is probably shoot, lead acid batteries don't handle deep discharges well. You can try to charge it with an SLA (sealed-lead acid) battery charger, but if it is that low odds are it won't take a charge, there is a possibility that you could connect it (in parallel) to another charged battery if you have one, but again 0.8v is extremely low and very unlikely to be recoverable.

It looks like you will definitely need at least a new battery, the question then becomes how it got so low. Was it sitting unpowered for a long time? If not they battery may be completely (or nearly completely) dry or shorted, or there may be a problem with the charging circuitry of the UPS.

I have no idea how old the battery is....if there's no battery it will not do anything ?
I can't see even LED is on ??

Remove the black and red cables to the batteries then plug the unit into the AC outlet, then check the DCV between the black and red cables that were attached to the battery to see if has any charging Voltage, the Voltage should be there as long as the AC cord is plugged into the AC outlet.
There should be date code on the battery also.

Those LEDs may not be on unless the batteries are good and no problem with the unit, you need to look at the owner manual. Most UPS will have the charging circuit running the minute you plug the UPS into the outlet without even turning on the UPS.

^This, My Opti-UPS ES1000C won't start up at all with no or dead batteries. It came with Yuasa batteries (which are theoretically good quality) but they only lasted a little over two years, the cheap (~$20 for the pair) Chinese batteries I replaced them with have lasted nearly 4 years so far.

Voltage at battery = 0.7V....no charging no LED...
Looks like there's some kind of short on high voltage side...
I can see the fuse partially burn...it's still connected but I reckon some FETs and diodes,transistors are faulty inside...I haven't checked yet but I can see the fuse like this in the photo..

Is that the main AC fuse at the IEC AC inlet? You definitely has shorted component in the unit.

Yes it is, I've opened it this noon...but strangely it's not completely blown...
abit risky.....what do you reckon it's shorted ?

i'v seen ups fuses fail gently from the stress of charging old battery's
your battery is done btw.

Ok, so it's slowly blown....is it possible if I try charging my battery ? 1.09V now...looks like very bad...rating 12V 7.2Ah...

the ups probably wants to see atleast 7v before it will try to charge that battery.
*maybe* you could trick it wih a 9v battery and a diode to stop the 9v battery being "charged"

The charger in those kind of the units is not smart charger, it should be running with output Voltage the minute you plug the UPS into the outlet.
We need good clear pictures of the inside the unit.
12V LSA with no load Voltage reading of 0.8V I do not think you can bring it back to life with good capacity.

^This, the battery is shoot. Not sure about Aus., but in the us 12V 7.2Ah SLA batteries can be had for around $15 including shipping.

That's good idea....diode on positive side ?
positive charger-----anode-----cathode---plus battery---battery----negative battery----ground .....?

Do you like fires/explosions? If not hooking up a Li-Ion battery to a charger designed for an SLA battery is a very bad idea.
