    Powerlink LPK2-30 400W - Linkworld PSU

    Got a Linkworld PSU to work with.

    It's a LPK2-30 (which I suppose is 300W) which was rated at 400W.

    What it provides:

    -18AWG wire
    -Ruilian Science fan - replaced with some noname fan from a 7team (Seventeam) AT PSU I threw away
    -P4 plug
    -6 pin AUX
    -4x HDD plugs
    -2x floppy plugs
    -20pin ATX

    Insides look like this (Pentium4's pic since my camera's batteries are dead atm)

    The only differences between my Powerlink and Pentium4's Linkworld are that mine has LOTS of PI coils (small,big...they're everywhere!),primaries are Fuhjyyu LP (his are MK).

    Also,anybody know what are the blank spots near the bridge rectifier?
    Main rig:
    Gigabyte B75M-D3H
    Core i5-3470 3.60GHz
    Gigabyte Geforce GTX650 1GB GDDR5
    16GB DDR3-1600
    Samsung SH-224AB DVD-RW
    FSP Bluestorm II 500W (recapped)
    120GB ADATA + 2x Seagate Barracuda ES.2 ST31000340NS 1TB
    Delux MG760 case

    Looks a lot like the IMicro and Coolmax V-500 I recently posted. Fun to play with, puts on a great show when they blow up, but would not want to trust them powering a computer over extended time. Old Chinese proverb says you get what you pay for......if you are lucky!

      Recapped it and it works flawlessly. I was amazed by the voltages:
      Code:
      3.3V = 3.36V
      5V = 4.94V
      5VSB = 4.96V
      12V = 11.91V
      -5V (it has a -5 rail) = -4.74V
      -12V = -11.62V
      Ironically,the only one coming close to this is my Premier LC-C400ATX (Deer) I have.

      Also,it's powering a old system:

      Code:
      MSI K7N2 Delta-L
      512MB RAM
      20GB Maxtor 6E020L0 - brand new
      LiteOn DVD-ROM
      Athlon XP 1900+ 1.2GHz
      FX5200+ 128MB
      C-Media 8738 PCI Audio card (onboard ports are dead)
      RTL8139D NIC
      MSI D-Bracket
      Floppy Drive
      For the recap,I used mixed caps until I can get some japanese caps,as I think I can get something useful out of it.

      Until then,the caps I used were:

      3x Ltec - from a dead Delta
      2x OST RLX - from a dead S754 MB,one is on the 5VSB and the other on one of the output rails
      1x Sanyo WG - from a dead LGA775 MB

      Also,the fan was wired to 12v from the factory

        I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

        No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

          Deltas die too. Very rarely though - but when they do, they are usually next to impossible to fix. They don't die from bad caps tho.

            I know. I was just joking. They are my favourite OEM, though.

              They make quality though,and bad caps aren't a concern on Deltas. I have a PFC from that dead Delta that is heavy enough to smash a CRT

              My favourite PSUs are FSP tho.

              Back to the thread's PSU,some Linkworlds can be good if recapped and modded. However I'd advise avoiding the proprietary PWM Linkworlds. I've seen such Linkworlds and they're utter crap. SG6105D ones are good though.
              Also worth mentioning,I've seen Linkworlds give solid voltages (and ironically "high end,beefy" Deers too). EI-33 transformer though.

              Funny thing,the PSU was built with 2 common mode chokes in mind! What does that mean?

              Another question would be if Bestec or Delta transformers work on those cheap PSUs. If they do,how much watts would you be able to pull from it?
