I did exactly that and laptop refuse to power on after returning back the file, I had return back the back up file.
I select the windows key and auto fill with 00 via hex editor and change the (?) to (<)
Save and reprogram, laptop did not turn on.
Change only the AA553F to AA553C alone, without touching the windows key.
Same thing, I'll post the backup file, maybe you can help me with it.Comment

Hello everyone, can someone have a look at my file? I want to remove autopilot but there is no AA553F or AA553C near autopilor_marker in the file. Any advice how to remove it? Thanks in advance. Dell optiplex 7070Attached FilesComment

Thank you very much, I'll try it in the morning. I see the differences between the files, but could you share your knowledge how it works? Is it gonna be the same with other of that model? I've got more of them and I don't wanna waste people's time and ask for help if I could do it o my own. ThanksComment

Thanks for the answer. I think you showed me the right path to do it. I just tried to change the value with HxD and check with UEFITool and it's invalid even if it's 7878 instead of 8343, so just last question, can I change it to any value and it's gonna work or it has to be 0303 like you did it? Sorry for many questions but I'm just trying to understand itComment

I also might think that e.g. you were born on 3rd march and 0303 are your favourite numbers. Instead of giving simple answer you want to complicate things and write ambiguous phrases. I appriciate your help, but if you don't want to treat people without condescension just don't answer my questions. I tried to be nice in my posts. PS I tried two versions 7878/0303 and both work the same - autopilot is still on after fresh installComment

Try your lotto favourite numbers but I assure you it won't work ...
Bottom line, my modified bios worked, yours didn't, so try to find Waldo in pics I sent youLast edited by volinakis; 02-07-2025, 05:22 AM.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Trying to be nice in every post, not only when I ask for help. I understood what to do from photos ("I see the differences between the files, but could you share your knowledge how it works?") but not why exactly that way. Did you read my previous post? I tired both files, yours and mine and none of them unlocked the pcComment

by SuperJamesThis one's a weird one, and still unsolved despite it having gone back to Dell once.
Specs
i7-8750H, GTX 1060 Max Q, 500GB SSD & Seagate 7mm 1TB HDD. 17.3 IPS screen. This has the fingerprint reader in the power button.
Backstory
I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). The usual thin plastic crap modern build quality!...10-23-2023, 04:09 PM -

by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell... -

Issue Description:- CPU Overheating to 100°C
- When I start the laptop from a cold state, it takes about a minute to reach temps around 80-90-100°C, and CPU thermal throttling triggers.
- When the CPU fan is running at full speed (by disconnecting PWM and TACH cables), CPU temperature stays around 50-60°C.
- However, when the fan is connected normally to the motherboard, it does not kick in at high temperatures.
- I also noticed a few times that the fan kicked in for a very short time, but it does not stay on consistently.

by NotEnoughHi everyone,
I'm working on a Dell G15 5515 (Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3050 Ti) and recently installed a compatible 4-zone RGB keyboard and controller (for Dell G15 5510/5511/5515 models). While the keyboard functions for typing, the RGB lighting is not detected by Alienware Command Center (AWCC), which displays “No AlienFX devices found.”
What I've Tried So Far:- Reseated the cables.
- Reinstalled AWCC and AlienFX services.
- Attempted BIOS downgrade but no improvement.
- Inspected ribbon cables for damage.
- Explored the possibility of BIOS or
