            hi
i have a 820-3437-B with corrupted efi file
my macbook turns on ok but it shows the folder with questionmark even with a good ssd connected, i replace the spi rom chip from a working board and it boots ok with apple logo and the bar loads up but of course it doesnt enter the system because the spi rom chip is from another mac

i extracted the bin file from the damaged mac can anyone do the process for me to the bin file so i can load it back to the chip and be working?

i really tried doing the process you people explained in this post but i couldnt do it because i dont have linux

            i would really appreciate

            thanks in advance

Please watch this Video carefully, I learnt all from this video... Fsys & Checksum has to be corrected in order for the notebook to work. Or send me the Notebook serial # & the EMC # of your notebook, I will send you a good updated working file, Just you have to program it to the SPI BIOS & solder it.. Nothing else you have to do.

My friend thank you for answering

I understand the video you posted the problem is that i dont have linux so i cannot use those programs

The bin file i uploaded is from the macbook iam trying to fix so it has the serial number inside it. The emc is 2632 and the board 820-3437-b

Do you need something else? If you could do this and give me the fixed bin file ready to upload it to the chip i would be really grateful!!

You don't need Linux to use a hexadecimal editor.

@Piernov, thanks so much for your video guide. My machine is up and running now. You have a new subscriber!

I received an A1466 820-3437-b machine for liquid damage repair. A prior repair attempt was made and they tampered with the SPI_ROM (no idea why).
I managed to get the machine to power on after doing some board level repairs
but the machine would not boot to the login screen (catalina), the loading bar will reach 100% and the machine just freezes there. on High Sierra it would boot to the login screen, but as soon as you login, it freezes on the loading screen. Ordered a TL866II to re-program the bios. I battled afew hours trying to program the new chip and succeeded eventually using your guide.

It took hours because I didnt have a clue how to use the programmer AND I had 3 bad SPI_ROM chips in a row (whats the chances right ?!?!), worked with 4th IC from donor board.

                                    Thanks so much!

For those of you who want to use the TL866II+ programmer under Linux.

I got it to work under ubuntu.

I received a 2013 Macbook Air A1466 820-3437-B motherboard with serial number C02L6GQ9FSV8 that came in WITHOUT a bios chip. I got a new bios chip and reprogrammed it. Macbook now powers on but doesn't boot the SSD. I've flashed a ton of bios but still same problem. Windows installation works with this Macbook but never a mac installation. Unfortunately, since I didn't receive this macbook with a bios chip, I don't have the original bios. What can I do now?...

Working on my wife's 13' Macbook air. It's been in a box since she upgraded but I figured it could be good practice.

I don't know how to test the voltage on a MacBook battery. I just assumed it had an enable pin but the best I could read was 300 something mV poking around the battery connector.

It's an older model and it is very likely that battery has become...

                                            Hi all,

i got a A1466 with serious water damage. I was able to clean the whole board and only found a fuse with a coroded trace. Cleaning and resoldering did the job and the macbook started normal but after some time the screen began "flashing" like turning on and off while the Macbook was still running. I checked the board again but was not able to find the problem until now.
                                            Any ideas where to look?...
