Thanks to a very kind member of this forum, i was able to activate win 8 with key from my corrupted bios.
Everything is working, second gpu (nvidia 840M 2gb) is detected and driver is installed, but i can't get a picture on the hdmi or internal display, only the subd15 (VGA) is working with external monitor.
What it can be the problem ? never see this one before !

Yes, this is the original corrupted dump, was from this dump that a member here extracted the win8 key.
Do you think that the problem now, is bios related ?
As laptop is working, all except hdmi and internal display ?
Cause if it's not bios related, i'm stuck.

                it might be bios
it might be ME region needs rebuild but in this case i havent done so but i can if needed

it may also be hardware problem... working on VGA and not working on digital ports like DVI or HDMI (assuming software and driver configured ok) may also indicate problems like VGA needs reflow or so...

I don't want to abuse of your kindness, but can you redo the bios with ME rebuild, like that i will test with and without.

Another wierd thing, when i connect the hdmi out to my monitor, the monitor doesn't detect the hdmi, and switch to dvi or vga.
Normaly, even with a laptop turned OFF, when i connect a hdmi to monitor, monitor detects that hdmi is connected but turns off, because there is no signal.
But in this case, it doesn't detect anything from the hdmi output.

It has been a long, but I had similar case today, X750LB black screen, no CPU voltages, only 3/5V stand by. Last posted here dump did a job, but with code 10 on chipset device, 8086/9c18, no discreete nVidia VGA and random notebook shutdown. So, i`ve updated my broken dump with clean ME 1628 and main update from Asus site, and for now it works fine. May be of someone interest

Post the laptop serial number, your bios backup (even if it is the wrong one) and a picture of the white barcode stickers on the motherboard

With ASUS, not everything is quite so simple. I will show you my way. It may be longer or harder but it is the right way to do it in my humble opinion.

For example, you can have 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all being the same model, all of which will have different BIOS versions.

I will give you an example and my version of preparing BIOS from ASUS website and in the process I am always cleaning Intel ME while doing it so you have fully cleaned BIOS, no DMI data, no password, nothing.

This is the picture of 3 similar ASUS motherboards, all of them being X555LD...

                                      Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

Anyway, I took dumps of both chips and then downloaded the latest update for this motherboard from ASUS's website...

Just had a customer bring in a HP 14s-fq1010nm to do some maintenance.
After updating the BIOS to the latest (F.35) I get black screen (no backlight turning on). However the backlight turns on if I connect an external display to HDMI, but when booting to Windows, both displays remain black.
After disconnecting internal LCD, and plugging in external display via HDMI, it works on external.

I tried downgrading it using official method - using an USB drive with older BIOS version, but it fails, saying that the BIOS files are corrupted. I used about 5 different older BIOS versions...

                                      ASUS TP500LA BIOS request/repair/merge?

Hi, my laptop wont boot at all
With original bios no POST, only LED lights
With alternative BIOS from model TP500LN (flashed via programmer) the notebook works again
                                      Some issues
                                      A- with bios from 500LN, it won't update from bios of model 500LA (from 500LN v203 to 500LA v300)
B- If updated from 500LN version 203 to 300, the battery stops being recognized

                                      Things I tried

1- Update / clear ME: Took the non working bios, made a backup, and did this: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...theory/trouble...
