    Hello,

I have desoldered the 25R256JWEQ and read it with CH341.
    Can someone check it?

            Hi Hoaca388,

I have checked the soldering of 25R256JWEQ and it seems to be ok.

            What should I do with W25Q128JNSQ ?
Should I leave the original BIOS inside?
With the original BIOS the pc would not boot and would not charge.
When I used the OF_W25Q128JW1.8V@SOIC8.BIN BIOS from Alegoff, the laptop could charge and it could power on but the ESC,F1, F4 lights were blinking.
Afterwards, I tried to flash other BIOS dumps to the same chip and from that point on, the Laptop could not be charged.
Even if I dump OF_W25Q128JW1.8V@SOIC8.BIN again, there is no charging light.

(Till now I have not desoldered the W25Q128JNSQ since I can read and write to the chip with the SOIC8 clip).

As a reminder, the first time this issue happened was because of a failed BIOS update from Lenovo as described in the first post.
            How should I proceed?

post merged..next time look for a thread with the name and model, motherboard model of the laptop, and post there, if you can't find it, then make a new thread..

                        Hello,

I have a dead L13 Yoga Gen 4 AMD and my last hope is a defective Software.
                        From the EC I extracted the following data: MTM = 21FSS0W900, System-SN = PW0C14XC and the board-SN is W3CG45G049E.
Attached is the (eventually defective) SPI-ROM (32MB) and the EC-ROM (16MB).

@peste: most headlines do not distinguish between Intel and AMD versions, although the BIOS SW and related problems are completely different.

                            thank you for your contribution.
In the meantime I was able to fix the laptop.
Symptoms were: completely dead, the board draw 70 mA at 5 V on both ports. No LED, no fan.
I downloaded from Lenovo the latest BIOS update and extracted from the archive the file $0AR2600.FL2 and pasted the file into my L13-Yoga_223002-1_EC-ROM.bin.
After having flashed the EC-ROM (W25Q128JW) with this image the laptop was working again.

Can you upload the file if you still have it? I downloaded it from Lenovo and the file $0AR2600.FL2 is only 292KB... Can you confirm you used the same one and which bios ic did you flash it to? The BIOS 1 or BIOS 2 on the board. Cheers

you are confusing the BIOS and the EC-ROM.
The BIOS Update package from Lenovo contains a file called *.FL1. It contains the EC-ROM. In order to generate a flashable image for the EC-ROM you need to cut off the first 32 bytes from the FL1-file and then expand it to the desired size with 0xFF.
The BIOS Update package from Lenovo contains also a FL2-file. This contains portions of the BIOS but it is not sufficient to generate a flashable image for the BIOS.

Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 3 ,How to know if the BIOS is corrupted
                                      by Loki_Fido
Hi everyone, hope everyone's having a great day.

                                      I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Yoga Gen 3 for repair. (20LES3T900)
I looked in every corner and the laptop seems fine. Its pulling 500mA but no display, no noise, nothing.

So I assume its a BIOS issue. I downloaded the BIOS with CH341A and opened it on ME Analyser and didn't receive any errors.
Does this mean the BIOS is fine? making it a hardware issue?

I downloaded fresh BIIOS from the Lenovo site and used Hex Editor replace the Lenovo's BIOS into my BIOS region. But the file size ended up being...

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14APU8 Bios Request
                                      by beogeek
I've currently got a Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14APU8 that is not posting. Its fan spins, the keyboard lights up, and the caps lock doesn't work. It was taken to some shop for cleaning, and then they updated or tried to update the bios. After that, there was no display and no post. I've removed the bios ic from the board and made a bios dump. I need some assistance going forward, as I suspect this is probably just a bad bios issue. I've tried searching for a dump, but no luck; if anyone can throw me a bone, it would be much appreciated!

Attached is the bios dump in the state I received it...

Fixed: Lenovo P14s Gen 1 (type 20Y1, 20Y2) Laptop (ThinkPad) bricked by a withdrawn BIOS update (r1buj82w)

                                      Hi!
Went dumpster-diving and found a bricked Lenovo P14S in trash, few weeks earlier. Symptoms - no screen, no POST, no beep, just keyboard LEDs flashing on powerup. Mute button+LED was responding though, and the display self-test was still working (via the key combo Ctrl+Fn+Power held for some seconds, see the Service manual).

Incidentally, Windows 11 have recently started auto-flashing computer BIOS in our region. Even more suspiciously, Lenovo has released a BIOS update just few days before the PC was trashed. About a week later, the BIOS update image has been oficially marked...
