so grateful to you for this patcher! I could successfully unlock the dell3440 I bought locked! the chip I patched was xmc 25rh256cxin, I used ch341b which appeared to not require 5-3.3v mod as it showed to me 3.3v on all data pins. The chip was low profile wson8 so I had to use hot air gun and solder it right on the back of my ch341b. I used NeoProgrammer V2.2.0.10 with selected configuration for chip W25Q256FV as per https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...49#post3171449
A few tips for soldering first-timers:
Be careful with hot air - as I was using hot air gun for the first time I put too much air as the board was dissipating warm and I messed up my board a couple of times blowing a few small resistors away. Fortunately I was able to put it back to life while changing one small resistor and fixing one of the traces. Put more temperature but less air (~30-40%) and keep warming up the area it may take up to few minutes if you're not using pre-heating table or something.Comment

Hello from France, I can't find how to post a message on the site, because I'm looking for the password for the Dell Optiplex 7010 bios code C4RKHZ3 - 8FC8 of my son's computer to change the more efficient SSD, thank you.Comment

post S/T, full name and model, motherboard model, etc.
post the contents of the bios chip ....
The bios chip must be unsoldered from the board before writing or reading..
do not use the clip, you may have errors..if you do not have anything to unsolder it with,
solder wires between the programmer and the bios chip..
you need an SPI programmer...here is a video for example..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWi...nnel=ThisIsHow

Hello everyone,
I'm afraid I need the help of the professionals here.
I tried to reset the BIOS password on my sister's notebook using the 8FC8 patcher. After successfully patching the BIN file, I had the chip soldered back in. Unfortunately, the notebook no longer shows any response (no charging LED or anything else).
I would now try to install a clean BIOS on the chip instead of the patched one.
But before I do that, it would be really great if someone could take a look at the clean BIN file, or maybe one of you already has a working BIOS-BIN file for the device.
In the appendix, I have included the original image, the patched image from the 8FCF patcher, and the clean image I created myself.

I had the solder joints re-soldered by a professional who had also done all the soldering work at the beginning.
Unfortunately, there is no response from the notebook, except that the LED lights up amber when you press the start button.Comment

Hello, I had the same problem.
It is very important that the WSON 8 BIOS chip is soldered correctly again; the orange blinking indicates that the BIOS is not being addressed.Comment

I wish to add to this very good comment, that I encountered a lot of times MX25LXXX (MXP) WSON8 chips being damaged by heat.
So try replace the chip with a Winbond W25QXXX (check if it's in your VSCC table...)Comment

Check if it is in the VSCC table using which software, can you guide me in detail? Thank you.Comment

I ended up doing some more research and I ended up finding some info which allowed me to successfully use this utility without any need for an external programmer. Schematics for my device documented a service mode (separate from the audio chip FD override), accessible by shorting ME_SW_PCH to 3.3V, which temporarily deactivates all spi protections. This allowed me to do a full read of my chip via flashrom, patch it, and reflash via FPT. Just figured I'd document this to help out those who have had issues with physical programmers. If anyone wants to try this and needs help finding the right test points feel free to pm me with your schematic and boardview.Comment

by BowlineMy question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell... -

by al_b0sniHey, i bought a Dell Optiplex 5000 8fc8 with chip W25Q128JVSN.
I also used the CH341A programmer but my usb cable (i didnt attach it directly into the pc, i used a cable between) was corrupted. So i made a dump. Then i removed the password but unfortunately the dump had a loose contact so it was corrupted. And i've also overwrited the chip and now i dont have any dump anymore.
Can someone help me? I am stuck since hours and i cannot find any bin file anywhere.
I tried to extract the EXE for BIOS installation from dell and also the rcv file but i didn't manage to do that....-
