Greetings, and thanks so much for all the effort you've put forth into this software. I have a Dell Precision 7540 8FC8 laptop on my bench.

Here's the issue I am having... When I run the program on my dumped file, I get an error code in red containing the phrase "intel signature". After peeking into the source code, I can see that this mentions it could be a corrupted dump or otherwise not a BIOS hex. I have dumped the chip a half dozen times, and diffing them together shows they are all identical. This is the only flash chip I can find on the motherboard and the hex does contain some plaintext strings such as the model number of the laptop. I tried running as admin, etc.

I bet I'm the idiot here, but here's hoping someone can point out something I am overlooking.

Thank you very much for your reply, my friend. As I work with this specific laptop, I find it seems to be that one certain model that has decided to be so difficult with which to work. Thankfully I purchased it for next to nothing...

I will head over to that thread and see what happens!

                Hi.

Am about to use the patcher software on my Dell 5440. I opened it up to use my CH-341A on the bios chip but noticed it had 2. My CH-341A only has the connector size Click image for larger version

ID:	3610785 for 1 of the chips. Which chip in the picture do I use to read and write to?

                Many thanks.

If the suffix is 8FC8 it will be in the SOP8 chip.

you want the runtime dependent there you go. check it all you want its only 490kb, but first install the dot net runtime for the app to run or if you still have trust isues download the runtime in microsoft website.
