    Lenovo Y40-80 bios

Hi all, I have a Lenovo Y40-80 that I am trying to remove the Admin password for. There is a password screen that comes up immediately that I can input a user password for (Pic 3) and this will allow me access to Windows or the BIOS, but a majority of the options are grayed out in the BIOS (Pic 4).

I have attached a picture of my overall chassis and a close up of the chip that I have read (using CH341A and AsProgrammer). I output two files from the chip and compared them (fc /b) and they were the same. I patched the first file (the file felt like it processed too quickly) and then wrote it onto the chip. I started the computer and nothing had changed, it quickly just showed the password screen again. I decided to compare the original to the patched files and they were the same, so it seems like things didn't get patched correctly.

Could anyone patch my original file or guide me to where in the process I've gone wrong? Thanks

Hi, thank you for trying. I could not get it to work unfortunately. Computer would power on, but there was only a black screen even after a long period of time (10 minutes or so) and multiple restarts. I reflashed the original back, so nothing lost, just back where I started.

I am using the CH341A with a clip and I have noticed that I get consistent scans while it's clipped up, but they are not consistent after it's been unclipped and reclipped. I have taken another scan after my most recent clip and will leave that attached. If anyone could try and patch the scan attached, it would be most appreciated.

I have tried to patch this scan and the script was again very quick and did not ultimately change anything upon comparison, but I am unsure if there is anything that I am doing wrong or missing even after reading everything that I could.
