    Hi, Stefan!
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for you help. After applying the modified BIN file, the onboard network card is now functioning perfectly😁

Please, I would be very grateful if you could explain what other changes are necessary—besides modifying the MAC address at line 00001000 for the NIC to work properly when I change the MAC address?

    Best regards,
    Vilmar

You need to recalculate the CRC word (last two bytes) of the modified Gbe region after changing the MAC address bytes.
The Checksum word (Word 0x3F, NVM bytes 0x7E and 0x7F) is used to ensure that the base NVM image is a valid image. The value of this word should be calculated such that after adding all the words (0x00- 0x3F) / bytes (0x00-0x7F), including the Checksum word itself, the sum should be 0xBABA. The initial value in the 16 bit summing register should be 0x0000 and the carry bit should be ignored after each addition.

          Hello, Sfefan!
Again thanks a lot for help and explanation.

Please, have you some tools or easy type to recalculate the CRC and update the BIOS BIN file with changed MAC Address? (I tried to use the UEFI_Tools NE to extract the Gbe Region, change with Phyton acript attached, and after Rebiuld again, but is not easy....).

Or if I change only first two digits of MAC Address is not necessary to recalculate the CRC?

Example: From 7C:57:58:6C:F0:5A to 8C:57:58:6C:F0:5A (If I use this same BIN file to fix other unit I will need to change the MAC Address again to avoid conflit in the network enviorement).

          Best Regards,
          Vilmar

            Hello,
Please, I really apreciate if you can help me with one more information.

I would like to save to reuse the Windows activation key from the old BIN file with issues so I can reinsert it later when tattoo with DMI after fix the System with new BIN file.

In the line 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 1D 00 00 00, it’s possible to locate the activation key, but to write it along with the DMU using the HP BCU tool, it requires a different format with the MS Digital Marker. Is there a way to locate this MS Digital Marker key in BIN file or convert it to that format?

Attached is a photo with the detail.

            Best Regards,
            Vilmar

The patch won't work if the bios version is latest. use this bin flash both it won't work if you only flash the main you should Flash Both.
first boot press f10 apply factory defaults and restart, 2nd boot reset security settings to defaults and exit.
use BCU and put your original DMI.
              frequently asked questions:
can i use this to my HP EliteBook 640 14 inch G9- yes

This is the both BID U75 and U86 its all you need.
              Thank you, you are brilliant

[REQUEST] Dell G3 3579 BIOS Password & AMI Protected Range/BIOS Guard Unlock
                by zenius
Hello, I have an old Dell G3 3579 (ST: 2WQ7LP2-8FC8) with a newer 8FC8 BIOS password. I have successfully attached to the flash chip (W25Q128JVSQ) on the motherboard with a CH341A programmer and made several modifications using Intel FIT (e.g., allow software SPI write) without bricking. I was also able to boot to a modified GRUB shell where I attempted to edit many BIOS security related options like BIOS Guard/Lock, Flash Signature Override, ME FW Image Re-Flash, etc.

Unfortunately, some of these modifications like to Intel BIOS Guard failed because it is fused into the PCH. Also,...

                TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" Bios Password Problem?
                by traxformania
                Hello,

I'm using TONGFANG "GM7TG7P" model laptop for over 3 years and i'm entering the same bios administrator password everyday. My laptop has Aptio BIOS (American Megatrends, AMI).

But today it's not accepting my password. I'm %100 sure i'm entering the correct password.

I'm trying to reset my bios without success.

                I tried :

-I removed the BIOS battery and main battery. Waited for a long time but it didn't work. They already stated in the user manual that the password will not be reset even if the batteries...

                HP Omen 15-dh0052nf power-on & bios password
                by Nopslide
Hello everyone, I come here to tell you my problem regarding the power-on password. It is not a bios reset demand, and i can't have any access to windows. This is the bios and power-on password that is blocking all other things.

My Omen 15-dh0052nf purchased second-hand was configured with the bios password upon purchase (very simple password :P ).

Having decided to sell it in order to get something more powerful, I reset all BIOS settings and set a blank administrator password. But the power-on password cannot be changed to a blank one so I let the actual password set....

HP Elitebook 820 G4 BIOS repair assistance required
                by Wutru
                Hi guys,

If someone would be able to provide some expertise, I'd be very grateful.

                BIOS Corruption - Cause
So I managed to corrupt my machine by installing linux and enrolling custom secure boot keys. I did choose to enroll the Microsoft keys as well, to prevent any potential bricking due to 3rd party drivers from HP being signed with those keys.
After doing that, and rebooting(it did boot, powerLED, fanspin etc.), the laptop did not give any video output on the LCD or video connectors. I think I was able to get in BIOS and trigger the beeper by pressing ESC....
