DV7 with coil very hot. on cpu_core_nb

well receive this machine , shes turning on altough its not giving image , we've notice PL201 is getting bloody hot , if there is a cpu present this coils gets hot like hell , we thinked could be the cpu was bad , but even with another cpu does the same.

now after starting writing this , i made a new clean to the board since many spots were bit dirty , (this was on a previous store before)
after making clean the coils is no longer getting hot , altough i dont have any values on it , and its making the caps lock blink (seems IGP) but this board is with strange behavior , will now try replace this IGP with a working used one just be sure , but your opinions will be welcome .

you had continuous blinking ? and after that u replaced isl for cpu vcore?

yes , kind weird situation this dv , in this moment getting 0 volts on cpu cores , but no more getting hot coil , altough , caps lock blinks once .

this machine is crazy i think this week is a bloody crazy week , only super craz y bad machines .. fighting here with a asus n53jg that simply no comments !!!

Power issues with HP pavillion 15 eh1815nd
            by Rik vb
            Hello,

I have some issues with my HP pavillion 15 eh1815nd.
It doesn't wanna power on anymore, when i click the start button it briefly turns white, then the light goes off again.
The charge light is indicating that it's charging when i plug it in.

I did some tests accross the board, and found 2 (coils?) near the CPU, one of the small (chips?) next to the bottom coil seems to get unusually hot, and the coil shows quite a lower resistance then the coil above.
Most/all capacitors next to, and below the bottom coil seem to be connected to ground on both...

How can I test coil whether it is really broken or not?
            by chth96
I have old game console which have connected to 220v outlet by previous owner and It is not able to turn on.

I checked continuity of fuse in PSU unit with a multimeter which is shown in the below picture with a orange circle around it, and It seems that fuse became open circuit.

I also found that as well as bulging capacitor, there is unidentified coil which has residue all over its surface

I want to replace this round black fuse and unidentified coil if it got broken.

HP Probook 455 G8 charging but doesn't turn ON
            by double_DD
            Hi all,
Unfortunately I cannot/don't know how to edit my last query, so I'll create another one instead.

So I've received this laptop to try and fix it. There were 2 blown components - small inductor and cap, both on Vin (main power rail) on the IN pins of the 0.75V chip (SY8388RHC). I've replaced that chip and the nearby 0.75V_DEEP_SUS (same type), and of course both of blown components. There was still a short on 3V coil, which went away when I replaced PI3DPX1207C chip next to usb-c port (as it was overheating). Luckily I have older non-working 455 G7 for the spare parts....

            Asus UX533FD no power
            by smic717394
Hi guys, I need a bit of help, I have a Asus Zenbook with motherboard UX533FD Rev 2.1. Connecting the laptop draws 30mah and not coming on, Measuring the coils I got the values below. Measuring in resistance all coils have normal values, cpu about 8ohm and the gpu about 5ohm but I guess its normal. Checking with the thermal camera, the only 2 chips that have a bit of heat signature are the U3501 (pd controller) and the U3001 that is the KBC. Now I guess the PD controller it's not the the problem because the battery is fully charged and trying to turn on on battery is the same.

            Just...

What part is this coil from a MacBook A2681 ?
            by waterchill
            Hi everyone

I'm struggling to point out what part is this? It is a coil, but the parameters say: 10OHM - 50% - 1A - 0.05Ohm

So it is a coil with 0201 dimensions, 1A max current, 0.05ohm resistance but what is 10ohm? For a coil we need specs like 1uH or so.

IAny ideas? It is from a MacBook A2681

            Thank you...
