    Dell Inspiron N5010 no power!

    Hey guys,
I got a Dell Inspiron N5010 that isn't getting any power. The power brick is 100% good (I use it with other laptops all the time), but the battery does not seem to charge, there are no lights or sounds, and of course it won't boot.

I would like to fix this, but unfortunately these laptop schematics (N5010 here) are just way too complicated for my elementary training. I have checked PU4502 as detailed in this post, and got 19.4v at the source and gate, and 0.4v at the drain. Not sure what any of this means though?

Could use some help! Thanks in advance

Probably problem with PU4501 (charger IC)

please post the voltage on power button, you should read 3.3V,
if there is 3.3v you should flash the EC bios chip with a good dump.

Gate voltage on PU4502 should be 1.72 voltage (just above minimum threshold voltage of AO4407A (1.7v)).
To get that voltage PQ4501 must get HIGH voltage to its gate from ACOK pin of charger.
ACOK should be high if there is 2.5v at pin 2 (ACIN) of charger and charger is functioning.

Sorry to disappoint you all, but I ended up breaking one of the ZIF connectors on the board and I figured I might as well replace the whole thing now. I appreciate all your help though, maybe next time!
