s3 ultrabook wont turn on has flashing blue light

hi all I hope someone can really help me here
I have an i5 ultrabook acer s3-391
my problem is I think my kids spilled some liquid on it not much though
my laptop will no longer switch on has a blue light that flashes every 2 seconds or so when using off the battery or steady orange and flashing blue when ac pluggeg in

any ideas??
don't want to lose a lot of money on this one

UPDATE
have since took apart the ultrabook
I have found damage I still want to try and repair this though even though I think its bad

first of all needs new lcd burned out at screen connector side female and male

then discovered corrosion on power + led ribbon so cleaned that up then I discovered the real nasty bit will upload some pics next

I have multi meter etc so any info welcome

What's the point of double posting a thread? Adding confusion and lack of coherency on diagnose to your already confused mind, because you can't wait a couple of hours for a reply? Please do the right thing and ask a moderator to close one thread or merge both.

Regarding your additional info, i wouldn't discard the lcd connectors yet, first focus on replacing/fixing whatever issues you have onboard and making the laptop work.

I have multi meter so can test certain components

from my side this is a notebook that need a new(used) motherboard or atleast put some clear picture of the faulty parts we can`t understand nothing

mate I don't have a decent cam at the moment

heres is a shot of the board the part that seems to have blown is marked with red line
and the blue circled area is the part on my board that's not there ie burned it
what im asking for is some help with reading the components to see if its just a case of replacing them hopefully it is

I can't see anything missing from your pic to ebays pic. Have you tried taking a photo in macro mode? Or why don't you simply post what's written on the damaged IC? Identifying the IC is half way to know how to test it..

it looks like there's nothing in there in the first place... try cleaning that section with denatured alcohol with a brush to remove the leftover of the liquid, let it dry and test.

Yeah clean it away, using 99.9% IPA or whichever you choose - burns can look much worse than they actually are.

But to me, on your photo, it looks like a large section of PCB tracks behind that MOSFET have blown off. If I'm right, and it's the ground side, you might be able to bridge it somewhere. If it's the source/drain side, you may possibly be able to bridge it somewhere.

EDIT: Just looked again, looks like ground side to me. Test every component in that area if you can.

Let's hope I'm wrong. Liquid spills like these can be nasty, often many other blown parts surrounding. Good luck to you.

Apologies for double posting, but I can't help but notice that's extremely similar to the problem with my L500, which I could never figure out. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=30337

I'd test resistance to ground of as many components/voltage lines there as you can - look at the schematic.

In my case, there was a short on the northbridge side which I couldn't track down.

this is the one blown I think I will need to test
so can anyone tell me what I should be looking for I have a multi meter

I have now learned hopefully the burned out are all ground on pin 5,6,7,8
can any one tell me correct readings for 1,2,3,4 with ac connected and disconnected

so if 1,2,3,4 is good basicly ,5,6,7,8 are all on a ground is that right meaning it could live again

you need to test it in diode setting on your multimeter, as in the link I gave you, then post results
