Monitor the voltage to ground of pin #6 on the charger IC with only the adapter.

Then again with both the adapter and the battery.

The last post shows that the voltage was lower when both power sources were attached.

Can you confirm?

What is the signal that says, perhaps in the form of voltage, how full the battery is, is it by any chance one of the pins of the charger ic?

It is evident that it is that signal that does not work for some hardware reason, because I also started Windows using only the fully charged battery and it never turned off.

But there is a contradiction in that, on the one hand there is the altered signal which tells the software to inform me that the battery has almost finished charging and this, in many ways... opens a blue warning window for low battery, the led indicator blinks, the battery icon next to the clock says 0 % charge .

The same software should shut down the laptop but it won't shut it down probably because it will get some other signal telling it there is no problem because the battery is charged.

Battery statistics are reported by the BMS of the battery itself through SMBUS.

Yes, everything about my battery is in the report. But now I install Windows again, sometimes even an update can cause damage.

I installed Windows again and a strange thing is happening, looking at the percentage of charge, this at the end of the installation was at 5%, a value never seen ... lately it was 0%, so it seems that Windows now communicates that the battery is in charge. But I don't understand three things:

1) the battery icon near the clock, inside it is motionless with no dynamic fill visible.

2) Now it shows 31% and there are 5 minutes left to complete the charge, same time as in the beginning which showed 5%

3) If I put maximum performance the brightness does not increase or even decrease if I put the maximum battery life

Go to the Toshiba or whatever they are called today website and grab the full driver package for this laptop. These drivers are required to communicate with the custom hardware implanted on this logic board.

Toshiba was taken over by Dynabook who I had already contacted about the touchpad driver and they said support for consumer devices has been discontinued so they can't help me. All of this is business.

What can I say, now Windows tells me that the battery is charged, the icon on the taskbar is full, problem solved? Am I to assume that it was Windows that upset the balance? Maybe, but I think so due to several updates made after installation. I don't know, maybe I'll come back here.
