Or just use the 53 W you have right now and just do not connect the load to the power supply, the power supply will be in stand mode any way since the PS-ON will not be present so the power supply should draw very little current.

Allright I've made the load test and there was no fire (Must have done something wrong(grin))
When the PSU is not connected to the Xbox I get a few ms of light on the bulbs and the PSU shows amber light.
When I connect the PSU to the Xbox and turn on the Xbox the bulbs turn on bright for 1 sec or so and the Xbox starts and the amber light turns green, then the Xbox turns off the green light turns amber again and no light on the bulbs.
Is the Xbox not turning on because of the light bulbs?

        Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v

Without having it connected to the XBox, do you get 5V the 5V wire?
The power supply draws < 2W in standby mode (PS-ON is not present but 5VSTBY is present), then it will draw lots more current when it is fully turned on and loaded.
At this point since the 53W lamp did not stay full bright (no load (Xbox) to the power supply), it looks to be working.
        1) You can now take a chance running the power supply without the 53W lamp in place.
        2) Or use 1K resistor between 5V STBY and the PS-ON pin then check and see if the switched 12V is present or not (no load (Xbox) connected to the power supply, but the 53W lamp is still in place).

          I have 57W and 40W bulb connected.
The 5v wire gives me 5v.
I placed the resistor in and measured 12.45v and it ran fine for 7 seconds or until I disconnected it, had the bulbs connected.

I had to hack a Xbox PSU for a bit higher voltage (13.8V instead of 12V, instead of upping the input voltage), was kind of annoyed at it because apparently they glued the SMT devices to the board along with the solder. GRR!

the glue is because it was wave-soldered,
philips used to make all their tv's that way.

when the glue warms up it gets soft,
i used to use tweezers to twist the part loose after the solder melts.

Then the question is how do you know when the solder melted? That weird forked wire tool that comes with cheap chinese hot air guns becomes ineffective with glue, and tweezers have the possibility of dissipating heat causing the solder to resolidify...

At least that was really annoying to remove those things!

you use the tweezers to hold the sides, not the contacts.

if it's a bigger package - like a chip, then melt the solder and flip the package by slipping the tip of a knife under the edge that has no pins.
                                if it's 4 sided - use a corner.
the "snap-off" blade knives are best - nice and long to keep fingers away from the heat.

Hello, I have a Xbox 360E Stingray where the 3.3VSTB regulator shorted and put 5V on the rail. I think the RAM and eMMC are on this rail. After replacing the regulátor, I get proper 3.3V but the console won't even turn on. Seems the eMMC is dead, I get power to it just fine but JRunner doesn't even detect the console when I hook up my PicoFlasher. Does a dead eMMC/NAND cause the console to not even turn on? Also does this with the eMMC removed, planning to downgrade it to 16MB NAND but want to know if it's a useless effort to save this motherboard. Thanks

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...

It happens that when I turn it on after having been disconnected for a long time, it turns on without problems, it tells me that the BIOS has been reset and that it will load the factory settings, if I tell it to continue, the computer turns on and everything works fine.

The moment I turn it off and want to turn it back on a second time, or restart it and try to start it again, it no longer gives an image, and it no longer responds.
