Asus laptop, bad keyboard after cleaning
I have a Asus laptop that I was cleaning, changing thermal paste etc.
It was really disgusting, filled with dust and soda, typical teenage laptop.
It was working before I cleaned it but was heating up and had loud fan noise.
I had to completely disassemble it and clean each part in it, had no noticeable troubles except when I was trying to open the cover with the keyboard, it was like it was glued together.
I put it all back and turned it on and everything is working except for the keyboard, power button works and few keys, 5 and 6 and H that I remember atm, but when...Last edited by playman; 05-16-2020, 08:36 PM.

Re: exquisit GSP-206
Thanks for the reply's.
Yes it's a 450v 3uf cap
So I quickly rested the cap.
Charged it with 10vDC, it took 43sec to drop down to 1v, but just 10sec or so to drop to 5v.
Checked it with an ESR meter (mesr-100)
4.04Ω
Does that say anything?...Last edited by playman; 02-25-2020, 09:23 AM.

exquisit GSP-206
I have a dishwasher that decided to go on a strike, it turns on and all that, but doesn't wash. (no water jets)
When I opened it up I noticed some light heat/burn smell similar to plastic burning, and unable to pinpoint it exactly.
The two motors turn, the smaller top one seems to be some kinda step motor.
The large motor needs force to turn, it wont spin if I stop spinning it, it's not much force needed but some.
I checked the capacitor that connects to the large motor and it seems like it's dead.
Do I test it like normal Electrolytic capacitors or?
I...Last edited by playman; 02-24-2020, 03:33 PM.

Re: Sega mega driveII AV problem
The cable is exactly 95cm.
The cable is just a 9din to PDMI (I believe) that i found at a flea market, not much of a shielding on it, I think
its only the ground that is braided over the inner wires, the cable diameter is 4mm.
As you might have guessed i'm just a electronics hobbyist and did not finish much school in electronics,
but I do believe I have the basics and I've able to repair many electronics with and without help.
I guess i'll just order some 9din connectors from ebay and use a spare scart...

Re: Sega mega driveII AV problem
I took a video of it, was unable to upload a video file so I had to zip it.
It doesn't show as well on camera though
maybe my wording of it wasn't the best.
Sorry but not quite understanding you.
There is only one 75Ω resistor in that schematic, or are you talking about the 180Ω resistor that I should make higher? and how much higher?
Made another schematic of what I think you were talking about....

Re: Sega mega driveII AV problem
I did those modifications, it still shakes as before.
I noticed that the SCART ports were differently marked, AV and then RGB.
When in RGB port it shakes, but when in AV port it's pretty steady.
I thought this was a RGB mod and therefore should work with the RGB port, right?

Re: Sega mega driveII AV problem
It's only 60cm long
Is that schematic correct then?...

Sega mega driveII AV problem
I have this SMDII and works fine, wanted to get a better picture from it so I made my own 9 din to
SCART cable, used a 9din cable that I found laying around, think it had a plug similar to what Samsung note 10 uses.
Pin 4 had no wires connected to it so I bridged 4 and 5 and shortened the 5 pin.
I get good picture and sound on the TV but the image is shaking alittle.
Any idea what could be the problem?
I used this schematic to make the cable....

Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
Just plugged it in and it powered on normally.
Thank you so much for all that help!!

Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
I have 57W and 40W bulb connected.
The 5v wire gives me 5v.
I placed the resistor in and measured 12.45v and it ran fine for 7 seconds or until I disconnected it, had the bulbs connected.

Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
Allright I've made the load test and there was no fire (Must have done something wrong(grin))
When the PSU is not connected to the Xbox I get a few ms of light on the bulbs and the PSU shows amber light.
When I connect the PSU to the Xbox and turn on the Xbox the bulbs turn on bright for 1 sec or so and the Xbox starts and the amber light turns green, then the Xbox turns off the green light turns amber again and no light on the bulbs.
Is the Xbox not turning on because of the light bulbs?

Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
Went to all local shops here that might sell them and no one has seen incandescent bulbs for over 5 years now, all I could find was LED and Halogens, and the 53w ones were the highest.
I've only heard that all incandescent bulbs are banned, that started with the ban of 100w bulbs in 2009

Any way, I've been unable to find 100w incandescent or halogen, is there anything else that...Last edited by playman; 07-09-2019, 10:23 AM.

Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
I have plenty of scrap boards, from mobile phones to printers and high voltage boards that were salvaged from some corporation racks.
I'll go and check another store tomorrow for higher wattage bulbs, don't know how it's in the US but iridescent bulbs are banned in Europe, but may be sold as heaters lolLast edited by playman; 07-08-2019, 07:10 PM.

Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
Should I maybe change them for SMD resistors?
Is there any wattage sizes on SMD resistors like on the trough hole ones? If so, is there any good way finding out what wattage they are with out schematics of the donation board?
PS.
What's DBT
PSS.
Finding iridescent bulbs today is harder then spotting unicorns, this this bulb good enough, even if its 57/75w bulb? Picture of it enclosed....

Re: Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
Is that all? just those few items? No need to replace the 200v caps or the transformer. Did not expect changing from 120v to 230v would be that easy.
I did do as you said, included the picture of the work.
Also here's a link to high QL pictures of both sides, hope they are good enough, if not let me know what you need. These pictures were taken after the change.

If that's all then it's just to plug it...

Turn 100v X-box 360 adapter into 250v
Somehow I managed to buy my self a US version of a X-box adapter when
I wanted a EU version.
Is there any chance for me to "upgrade" it from 100-127v to a 220-250v?
What would I need for that?...
