So today I was checking on a GC board that I got from a friend and he told me the GC would get an error and doesnt want to read games after a couple of hours gaming on it. So I suspected it to be some bad solderconnection or an capacitor, when checking the solder connections of various components one of them was so loose that it flew off. I think the component right next to it is the same. The board says it's DA15 and I've never heard of that designation. The Text on the component says A1, and this also doesnt help me out. Maybe one of you guys knows what part that is so I can order it instead of buying a broken board and stealing it from that one.

pure coincidence, i just got a gamecube to strip down for a good clean and fitting a modchip.
i'll see if i can identify the part at the weekend.
i think the problem is unrelated though, the dvd drive may have issues but the area in your pictures is i think related to video output - i'll find out.
your friend should play games from an SD card btw.

i wouldnt try to fix the dvd,
just fit the €4 modchip and get a €2 micro-sd adapter from aliexpress.
this is the thing you need with the modchip to get it going:
https://github.com/emukidid/swiss-gc/releases
the modchip redirects reads from the dvd to the sdcard,
swiss is your boot-menu & ISO loader

He wants it to be fixed without the modchip, he's a videogame collector and wants it to be like original, he already has almost every game on dvd, so for this device I only need the capacitors and the part that is missing, were you abled to figure out what this part is/does? And btw thanks for your help already

not yet, need a couple more days.
i had to spend half the day cleaning it and finding a new fan.
also it has a lithium battery that will be dead by now.
it's not rechargeable, it's just a cr2032
your friend better understand that the lasers do wear out if he uses it a lot.

well mine has different markings.
and the 4 arent the same, it's 2 pairs of possibly complimentary parts
the missing one is "M5C"
the one next to it is "M5B"
they are going to the internal serial port used for stuff plugged into the base.
probably buffers or line-drivers - i'll try to id those numbers

A1=1SS308
A2=1SS309
If 2 pin is connected like the third assembly, also with 2 pin, then this is A1.Comment

I have done some Nintendo Switch Consoles, but this one is getting to me.
I am a few years from 'retirement' and things are getting hectic - just to get on with daily repairs I do to get to the 'retiring' time!
I am no expert on consoles but here it is and I am not much on forums, although I would love to - I have not time, with family commitments too - everybody always asking for something!
It came with its charging port 'snapped' from its welded anchor plate.
I believe customer had previous problems and wiggled connector for a long...12-04-2021, 02:45 AM -
by flibidyI have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.
The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.
Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

by SRO2Hello,
While changing the charging connector on a Nintendo Switch, a component flew out because of the hot air coming from the hot air station... I would like to know if any of you know the reference of this component?
I attach a picture with the location of the component. Thanks for your help!... -
by ugamazingBoard had no history of liquid; unsure of drop history, but no signs of damage of any kind worth noting.
Charger sitting at 5v/0a. PPBUS is at 1.9v-0.9v steady cycle (peaks, drains, loops). Confirmed CHGR_EN_MVR is missing, but DCIN was reaching ISL just fine, so replaced ISL--no change at all. Confirmed pp3v8_aon is also missing--and being unsure *exactly* which signal appears first (or if they are simultaneous), I inspected PMU/U8100 area and found no shorts, but also found PP3V8_AON_MPMU_ISNS_VIN missing (not shorted). Replaced U8100 just in case (have had them fail in weird ways),... -
i bought a use console from ebay fixed it and it has parental lock. seller wasn´t helpful and nintendo either cause they don´t support used devices as they told me per mail. thanks for the bad support here in germany. was totally upset as i read the answer to my mail from 1 week ago.... there was no other way to get rid of that code rather than modding the console cause i didn´t even had the device id as it´s a patched V1 and for getting masterkey on salthax there is the need to type in the device id which was unknown in this case... i did a mistake. after the repair i entered my wlan and...
