Magnum IA.100 Amplifier Switches on, No Output, Possible Input Side fault?

I have here a Magnum IA.100 which belongs to my parents.

The unit powers on & when the relay kicks in, you get a pop from the speakers (this might sound weird but is usual behavior for this amp). However, you get nothing coming through it from any of the inputs & no pops and crackls from any of the controls.

Because of the sound from the speaker when the amp turns on I have assumed that the output section probably works but I could be wrong & I'm not sure how to test that side of things further.

    What Ive done.....

I've given it a general visual inspection and don't see anything obvious on the main board (dry joints, exploded or leaking caps etc). The mosfet based amplifier section is a little more tricky to inspect due to the way the boards are stacked. I will go there if I have to but I wanted some advice and I'm waiting on a few bits and pieces (cheap part tester & some other bits and bobs).

I checked the voltages from the power supply before they get to the main board or the output section and they all seemed to check out. +28v DC, -28v DC to main board (there appears to be 2 x 24v regulators on the board, one for the positive side and one for the negative side) & approx 90v going to the amplifer output section.
I checked the 2 large caps on the mainboard & their uf read fine on my meter (but I dont have an ESR meter at present). I checked them out of circuit but I did notice that the on their seems to be a dead short between the positive and negative connections (where the cap on the left is soldered in) which doesn't seem right to me.
I also checked all the relays were working (out of circuit) but I noticed a short between the audio outputs going to the mosfet output section of the circuit (Ive disconnected those wires to get access to the under side of the board, so the short isn't on the mosfet side), sadly I only noticed this short after I reinstalled the output relay, so perhaps the relay shorts those contacts when it's switched off.
The 2 voltage regulators on the board seem to get very hot but my basic ir laser thermometer read them at about 80 - 90 degrees C which seems high but possibly inspec (ive not been able to find a data sheet on them sadly).

    My skills.......
I have a rather basic knowledge of electronics (I know what most components are but not really how they work together). I can solder, know how to use a multimeter have a benchtop power supply & a handful of arduino projects under my belt but thats about the sum of it.

The Amp was a "hand me down" from my Uncle who liked his Audio gear almost as much as he loved his car. It was a great performer for many years but after they moved house, it never really got used. I dragged it out of retirement as my Uncle recently died & I thought it would be nice to get it going again for my parents. It was working after it's last use (maybe 15 - 20 years ago).

Any help would be appreciated as I'm so what out of my depth.

Nikkai EAPA 450 car amplifier rear speaker output is a low level and distorts easily
    by waigy
    As the title.
I think these used to be sold in maplins a lot of years ago, it is an antique, but it's just fine for my needs.
It looks basic enough inside with large components so I could do a full recap pretty easily.
Any suggestions on what component would cause the symptoms of low volume output on both left and right rear speaker outputs?
If I turn up the rear gain level in the amp until the speakers start to distort it starts to distort quickly even though the speakers are still pretty quiet.
I thought I had dodgy speakers as I just fitted new old stock 6x9s in...

    MT3608 Step-Up Converter IC Datasheet
    by Document Archive
The MT3608 is a constant frequency, 6-pin SOT23 current mode step-up converter intended for small, low power applications. The MT3608 switches at 1.2MHz and allows the use of tiny, low cost capacitors and inductors 2mm or less in height.

Internal soft-start results in small inrush current and extends battery life.

The MT3608 features automatic shifting to pulse frequency modulation mode at light loads. The MT3608 includes under-voltage lockout, current limiting, and thermal overload protection to prevent damage in the event of an output overload. The MT3608 is available...

RCA WHP141 wireless headphones wired up
    by momaka
OK, this one dates back to 2015! I thought I had posted this, but realized I didn’t when I posted a picture of something else. So here it goes…

Back in 2015, I bought a pair of RCA WHP141 wireless headphones at Micro Center for $2. I even mentioned it in the best cheap/free scores thread right here. Just forgot to follow up with that.

As mentioned back then, these are (were) 900 MHz FM wireless headphones. No modern day Blutooth or anything like that. I knew they wouldn’t be great headphones or even that good… but the price was right! So let’s take...

2 Belkin KVM switches have dim VGA output
    by MrCreosote
When compared to a direct VGA connection, these 2 switches both output a darker image. The switches are:

    4-port Omniview Pro2 f1dz104t
8-port Omniview either f1da108t OR f1dz108t (look and function same, OSD may be only difference.)

The 4 is dimmer, the 8 is massively dimmer - both with same AC adapter and cabling.

    AD ADAPTER:

There were issues with previous AC adapter, it failed during lightning strike that blew up TV and other stuff and tripped a 15 amp breaker in the main panel which also had a whole house Cutler Hammer surge...

    Help with boom box modification
    by Califauna
Hi, this is more of a project help request than a troubleshooting question. I hope I can post it here.

I have a W-King D8 Bluetooth boom box which I'd like to modify with some external speaker output jacks and some buttons to switch the internal speakers on and off.

From factory the specs of the boom box are:

    -Power Input: DC 5V
-Speaker Output Power: 2 x 25W ( confirmed by Youtube channel Hartdegen review as 12.5W RMS per channel)
    -Drivers:
    -2 x Woofer, 70mm, 10Ω, 70mm,15W
    -2 X Tweeter, 8Ω, 30mm,10W x 2
    -Frequency...
