No LCD image after connector replacement – lifted components and damaged resistor (Nintendo Switch Lite HDH-CPU-02)

    Hi everyone,

Sorry for the person who’s going to read all this !
I'm on a Nintendo Switch Lite, motherboard HDH-CPU-02.

While replacing the left joystick, I had to remove the motherboard to access the connector underneath. When I lifted the LCD connector latch, it broke (the plastic had become brittle over time), so I replaced the entire connector.

During the desoldering of the LCD connector using hot air, three small components located just below the connector (likely 0402 capacitors) came off and remained stuck to the bottom of the connector after removal. None were lost—they simply desoldered.

I tested the original capacitors before removing them and measured a value of 1.1 µF. I replaced them with new 1 µF capacitors (closest I had), but that did not fix the issue.
To be sure the problem wasn’t coming from the connector, I desoldered and resoldered two different LCD connectors, taking my time on each one and checking all the pads and joints carefully. All pins are properly soldered and verified under a microscope, with no visible bridges or cold joints.

Additionally, while using tweezers to hold the board during the desoldering process, I accidentally damaged a small resistor, located just below and to the right of the CPU. It’s a 0201 resistor, and based on my measurements, it seems to be 100 kΩ (marked 1003)—but I’d like confirmation before replacing it.

    Current symptoms:

The console boots normally, the backlight works, and I can hear system sounds (menu navigation, button presses, joystick movement). So it seems the console is fully functional internally.
However, the LCD shows no image at all—it stays completely black.

    Questions:

    1. Does anyone know what the components are just below the LCD connector on the HDH-CPU-02 board?

    2. Could these missing capacitors be the reason for the missing image, even though the backlight and system boot are working?

    3. Can anyone confirm the correct value of the 0201 resistor located just below and to the right of the CPU? Is it really 100 kΩ?

    4. I have a .pcb boardview file for this motherboard, but I do not have schematics, so I can't verify the exact component values or functions.

Thanks in advance for any help!

And on these pictures all the capacitor on the bottom of the connector have been removed

        Nintendo Switch HAC-001 LCD connector

If I removed the LCD connector while the battery is still plugged in, did this damage the logic board like it would a laptop? This is my first time working on one and not only did I forget to unplug the battery when removing the logic board but after I replaced the USB-C port, I broke the clip that keeps the LCD connector snug to the logic board.

I can replace the LCD connector if I knew the logic board was ok. I secured the LCD connector with a piece of Kapton tape. The console is charging but when power button is pressed, I only get backlight. So, I don't know where the logic...

Nintendo Switch lite shuts down after nintendo log and replaced M96T36o
        by fab13
        Hello everyone

After checking the defective USB-C port and close to a short circuit on the M96T36 chip (8ohm) I have changed both components.
I specify that there is no other short circuit or heating component(Vu thermal camera)

First, the problem arises: Error 2101-0001 after the start-up screen ("Nintendo" logo), poor soldering.

Secondly, I install a new M96T36 and the problem I have is a brief display of the "Nintendo" logo (no short circuit, no sure charge chip, no sure charge port, no sure charge management chip percentage)....

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
        by jinu_j
        Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

        1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
        2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
        3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
        4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
        by mikey5791
        Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...

Can a resistor lose resistance after hot air?
        by MidnightRoller
I am curious if a 0402 resistor could go from 43 ohm to 0. In electronics class and my experience a resistor can degrade and gain resistance all the way up to not being able to conduct at all. I have never heard of a resistor decreasing in resistance and becoming 0 ohm or a dead short… that's not the direction they fail… or so I thought.

I was attempting to remove a wson8 chip on an iMac motherboard and it required a lot of heat, on one side of the chip were 3 0402 resistors that were very close. I popped the chip out unintentionally out of the tweezers and sent those resistors...
