    Soyo SY-5EHM v1.1 Tayeh

Took home a comp from my school's computer graveyard today, upon examination I found 2 Tayeh 1500@6.3 8mm bulging, 1 leaking. Not surprised at all as case ventilation is bad and internals very dusty. Other caps (Tayeh and Wendell) look ok. May or may not replace the caps; input? Currently has a K6-2 350MHz.

You can actually have too many computers.
I know this first hand, and at some point you decide to toss some.
I tried giving some away but they come back to haunt you.
I've found the decideing factor to be USB.
Got USB, OK, no , toss.

As Jim said, probably not worth fixing unless you have a specific use for it, as a router or file-server or something. Both Tayeh and Wendell are guaranteed crap at the same level as GSC/Gloria/Lelon/YEC, and all of them should be replaced as a matter of course.

It has USB, so I'll keep it. By that same token, I should sell my PowerEdge. But I won't as it makes a nice table.

BTW I have 8 computers in my house ATM. 5 desktops (2 complete and working, 1 almost complete, and 2 missing multiple parts), 1 server (complete and wrking), and 2 laptops (1 missing HDD, 1 complete but nonworking).

Doesn't that PowerEdge have a USB header on the motherboard? You can get the USB riser for about $10. If not, USB cards are only about $30.

I'm suggesting that K6-2 computer should be recapped, unless you don't have a use for it. I have thrown away a K6-2 450MHz computer because it had just three bad caps and it did have USB, and that's haunting me right now!

DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY!!! My garage is the island of lost computers. While I don't have any PC pre 386 anymore, I do have a bunch of Microchannel, a TI994A and an IBM PS/2 that weighs about 80 lbs.
